Well, up until today, the highest I had seen was 114...here:

So, now I have to find 115 too!

I believe there are probably mpre.

116 would mean from 100-116 would be 17 aircraft.

Does anyone know which number was lost in the accident?

Here in a minute I will list pictures of all of the ones I have.

The aircraft which was lost was #117.

We actually had pictures of #117 a while back -- we actually briefly discussed whether the "7" was a photoshopped "3" or not, but video proof and photos of J-15s from other angles demonstrated it was real

Okay, I will list pics of all of the J-15 aircraft I have found, which now include the 6 prototypes, and the 18 production aircraft, 100-117. I actually have two or three photos of each aircraft.

Here are the six prototype J-15s:

And here are the next six production aircraft, 112-117 (which was already seen earlier as Bltizo pointed out)::

Altogether, then, that is 18 production aircraft we know of which are flying and I believe all of them have been on the Liaoning. But the 117 was lost, so that leaves 17 production aircraft. We also have 6 flying prototypes. So 23 flying J-15 aircraft.

I have to believe that they have produced more.

Perhaps there were 24 production aircraft in their first batch.

Who knows? (Well, certainly there are those in the PLAN who know for sure! LOL!)

We will have to wait until we see them.

Yes...I had forgotten completely about that. Thanks for reminding me!

...so 117 has been seen...and apparently lost. which means at least 18 were produced in the initial batch or group.

I will fix my last post above.
