Wondering how many J-15 would be produced? 60 perhaps .. for 2 carriers in the next 5 years and then I would expect a new variant (much improved) would be ready

Sorry, from my perspective, I am calling it a PS.

Zoom in on the number an it is clear that the "7" has been PS'd.

Almost like they took a "3" and turned it into a "7"...but PS'd nonetheless.

Here...take a look at it zoomed in and contrasted:

They could have taken a little more time and effort and at least made it look better...like I did with this:

But even that, if analyzed with the right tools would show it was manipulated.

In addition to the video which was posted by kriss (which definitely proves 117 is not a PS), I think I have a simple explanation for why the "7" looks like a PSed "3".

It is because on the outer side of the J-15's right vertical tail, there is a bit of a "bump," and it is visible in any number of previous J-15 photos when one looks closely at that spot.

On 117, the 7 is drawn over the bump, causing the middle of the 7 to have an almost "horizontal line" look to it, or making it appear sort of like a PSed 3.

e.g,: for 104, the bump is between the 0 and the 4.

So I think it is very definitive that the 117 is not a PS, because not only do we have video footage from CCTV of 117, but we also have a sensible and reasonable explanation for why the 7 sort of looks like a PSed 3.

It's on CCTV. It's real unless CCTV edit the whole footage.

Thanks. I retract my statement.

I did not know the pic had come from a video...the video itself, in taking the still off of it could account for the issues I saw on it.

Thanks again for the link to the video.

...which of course means that there is a 115 and 116 out there too (at the very east.
