This is a great video of the Liaoning on a Chinese site:

High res too. Some shots I had not seen before...though parts of it were on other videos too.

I developed a Flickr album called, "Life aboard the Chinese carrier, Liaoning." In it, I use about 50 pictures from recent exercises and flight operations to show the progress the Chinese are making with carrier operations.

It is impressive stuff and something many have wondered about in terms of what progress they are making.

I'd say they are making excellent progress, particularly considering that their first carrier ever was only commissioned three years ago. Here's a link to the album. Take a look at the whole thing. The [pictures are ordered chronologically with respect to operations.

Feel fre to pass this around.

Basically, China now has operational mid-sized air-defense carrier, good enough to provide CAP for friendly forces and to defend against small to medium sized air strikes . It could also provide ASW support, and only thing that remains is to practice landing and taking off with heavier strike payloads.

Early morning shot. Yin Zhuo said pilots have been trained under four weather conditions, including landing at night. He indicates that it's close to combat ready in terms A2A.

GREAT pics!

Looking at a blow up of the ne...another beautiful shot with six J-15s on deck, we see that three of them are loaded with four A2A missiles.

Also, we see number 105 there.

We do not know it...because we do not see them all together at once, and because the clips could come from different events. But, in the one high res video, if we are to believe that all of it was from a single exercise, we see the following aircraft shown aboard the Liaoning in that video:

100, 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 113, and 114. That's ten.
