What's their source? And if they don't have one, why are you re-posting it?

Just the other day I heard (from an actual reliable source) that the PAF will be getting J-20s, but this analyst only quoted "a report" without specifying what his source was. I didn't repost it because it doesn't matter unless the source can be verified. There's no point in posting unverifiable reports and having people run in circles, especially if it's a big claim which requires greater burden of proof.

You mean my source (in fact this member's name is mentioned) or her?

To the original source I cannot say anything and that secret lady "Messiah" usually does not say anything. She was quite reliable some time ago and as it seems well informed on certain Pakistani aviation industry issues ... then she disappeared and came back earlier this years I think. Since then she's constantly making claims, that are - to put it mildly - barely believable and she always refuses to explain: Claims, the Block 3 would have dramatic changes to the rear fuselage, would feature a wing with wider span and different aspect ration and now this are IMO just the final nail to her credibility coffin.

I mean her source (where she got her intel from), if she's not revealing her sources then it's useless intel, until corroborating evidence shows up. And she's not even a professional analyst publishing in a journal, I even apply this rule to them.

The news about PAF purchasing 30 J-10CE is almost certainly false
I think the time for Pakistan to get the J-10 is long gone. Ever since they decided on the JF-17.
What could make sense would be a twin-engine fighter. But Pakistan hasn't seen a need for something like that so far.

The Indian-Pakistani skirmish and Rafael/Meteor purchase by India spurred the Pakistanis to purchase J-10C. Pakistani needs an off-the-shelf option that doesn't have political restrictions (i.e. F-16) to fill in the gap while Project Azm/FC-31/J-XY/J-35 development matures.

This is a really impressive achievement that a fully indigenous Chinese fighter has an export sale to a highly respected and modern airforce like Pakistan. It means J-10C has come to age.

Do you think China would sell it to other countries ?

VT-4 tank as well. I agree. Thailand seems to be switching its allegiance from the US to China and the military purchases are part of it.
Thailand has historically tried to cultivate friendly relations with whoever is the leading power in order to retain its independence.
Sometimes this forced them to make difficult decisions which led to loss of their territory. But it was never a Western colony.

The only way for this to be true is if PLAAF hand over second hand J-10C to PAF. It doesn’t make sense from a sustainability point of view because eventually they’ll need to switch to WS-10 anyway, which forces them to maintain another new engine type.

What if the PLAAF is going to sell J10Bs to the PAF instead?

The J10B was always a bit of an appendage type. While it certainly has its value and uses, those could be accomplished just as well with 11 airframes as opposed to the current 36.

They could be refurbished and upgraded with export AESA radars and anything else the PAF wants and still come out significantly cheaper than brand new J10Cs; and they could be available a hell of a lot sooner than if the PAF needed to wait in line for brand new J10C production slot availability. Given current geopolitical developments, it’s hard to see the PLAAF being prepared to give up almost a full year’s worth of J10C production capacity to give the PAF so many brand new J10s in one go. And it would be just as hard to see PAF willing and able to pay extra to get additional production capacity unlocked at CAC to build them on top of existing PLAAF orders to the tune of 25 per year unless they want to buy far more J10s than was ever previously suggested.

I actually see J-10 production winding down at CAC, along with a production ramp up for the J-20, so there would be capacity for new J-10s for Pakistan.

The obsolete J-7s and J-8s should all be replaced in 3-4 years anyway, even if J-10 deliveries to the Chinese Air Force ended.
Plus I think there are enough J-10s in the fleet, whereas there aren't enough J-20s considering the number of F-22s and F-35s being produced.

F-22 are being scraped soon and f-35 are being grounded all the time... better to ramp up j-20 production when ws-15 is ready.
