what happened to those underwing containers that were first seen back in 2009 when j10b first flew? We havent seen them since... They looked like EW pods, but admitedly they were positioned in weird places...

Since we know that all known prototypes 1031 - 1035 are painted ... is this a new bird ???

Deino

Does this J-10B look a bit more "brown" in color when compared to other J-10B's seen before? Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me.

Looks like the J10s in the first pic are packing LGBs, strange that we have never seen J10As carry laser designatory pods on their intake hard points even though they are designed to do so and are carrying LGBs like in this picture.

Anyways, best not tell the Indians about J10s in Tibet or they might freak. ;)

I think this is the first proper pic of J-10s carrying any tyep of PGM in flight (we've had pics of them dropping LT-2s I think)

You are right, and the second pic is the first time I've seen J10 carrying bombs on a cluster pylon on the center line hard point in addition to the four under belly bomb/pod only hard points. Which means in a future strike mission the J10 can carry two drop tanks, 10 FT-3 smart bombs, and two PL9 AAMs. Alternatively, it may carry two drop tanks, 6 FT-3 smart bombs, 4 PL12 and 2 PL9 AAMs.

How much of J10's famed agility will be compromised by such a payload ?
