Key Reasons For Why It Is Overrated
1) Venture Capitalist business culture focuses on scamming money from gullible investors rather than creating a functioning product.
2) No true artificial intelligence, there are always humans guiding the AI, which undercuts the premise of the field. Won't be true AI for decades.
3) Too much hype in the industry.
4) Simpler hardware and software can get the job done. Many complex frameworks and models are not needed, only sustained by hype and (once again) gullible investors.
This makes intuitive sense to me, since while I am not an AI programmer, I do design apps for people who hate using spreadsheets for some reason. (Their loss, not mine)
In the light of China injecting 1.4 trillion into "high tech fields" such as 5G and AI, lets hope some of that money finds its way into hardware where its needed.
Otherwise, it is just reinflating a tech bubble on the verge of bursting.
