Iran recently unveiled a cutting-edge light turbofan engine - the "Jahesh-700":

Jahesh-700.png
  • Produces 1500lbf of thrust
  • Iran's first modern light turbofan engine - huge leap in technology from turbojets previously produced/used (will help in development of successor to Owj/J-85 jet engine)
  • Cutting-edge single crystal turbine blades
  • Modular design with advanced control system
  • Huge potential for Jahesh-700 to power the next generation of Iranian UCAVs
  • Has 2x the fuel efficiency of Iran's largest jet engine (Owj/J-85)
Excellent video of the manufacturing process and testing of the Jahesh-700:

It is said to be an indigenous copy of the U.S. FJ-33 turbofan engine (originally unveiled in 1998 and latest version unveiled in 2016):

Iran's Jahesh-700 (top) and U.S. FJ-33 (bottom).

An incredible achievement, especially given the military embargo and economic sanctions/siege Iran has been illegally subjected to. This is just the beginning.

Well it seems that the UN Security Council have denied US's request to undergo a new round of arms embargo towards Iran. Does this means that Iran will soon be able to purchase state-of-the-art armaments?
Yes, from end of October. But depends what Russia/China will sell (and if they will defy strong US pressure). I predict the biggest deal will be to import 50+ su-35s from Russia; the air-force is the top priority where Iran needs access to foreign tech until it can advance enough to be self-sufficient. Most other areas are either already sufficiently advanced or not as urgent.

Rumor like those of the Chinese sales of J10, past claims of SU30, SU34, SU35, JF17 we have heard these for decades now. Or the joint Russian Fifth Generation fighters Iran supposedly was working on?

Now that the UN arms embargo is sure to be lifted, why wouldn't Iran be getting some of those weapons? Do you not understand the severity of the defeat the US suffered at the UN Security Council?

1) Never say die.
2) call me when the paperwork is signed and more importantly when Iran has to cough up the Money honey. And not they Hyper inflated local currency. The Russians won’t sell unless they get something worth it. The Chinese might barter for Oil but Russia has oil to spare.

Iran doesn't actually need Su-35s. America's own Civil War 2.0 will work much better to protect them.

p.s. "never say die" is usually said by someone who is dying (Hint.)

Civil war 2.0? Oh I must have missed something... Oh wait you mean politics as usual.
Protect Iran? That old meme still ground about?
My point dear Mohsin is that it’s September and the embargo isn’t over yet. Of course if it gets pushed again And still could Russia and China have their vetos.
