Nice hopefully they are improving fast and this isn't just a one off still needs grips and sights looks like they are carrying 8 or 9 mags with 8 grenades
Their fitout here is not too different to what we have seen as standard for the last 3-4 years aside from having an extra few pouches on the bags.
Even in terms of optics for the rifles, it is about 50/50 for having an optic (service issue magnified prism sight or holographic sight) or not, which is also about reasonable.
The red dot they have equipped in these pictures if anything looks non standard and looks somewhat less capable than other products they have sourced from (service issue or after market)
Also, they look like one of those airsoft red dot optics.
As for tactics and choice of loadouts, they are definitely inspired by the war in Ukraine. The buttpad, which is iconic at this point, is the most obvious indicator. Not going to lie, out of many of the pics here in this thread, this one contains a lot of info to analyze, praise, and criticize, especially if we know the context of this training.

The airsoft red dots are jarring to be frank. But I guess if they hold zero it’s good enough for training as all red dots are functional the same, assuming they have the right reticle options.
Their load outs seem heavily influenced by lessons from Ukraine. The buttpads aside, the number of grenade pouches they are wearing is impressive and unprecedented as far as I recall.
Still a lot to be desired as I really wish they would actually use their ballistic eyepro instead of all wearing them on their helmets like some useless fashion statement.
Significantly less than 50/50 with regard to optics imo, especially for the PLAGF.
For Type 191 appearances overall in the last few years I feel like it is somewhat close to 50/50.
Of course that is nothing to boast about given it should of course be closer to 90/10 for a modern military

Airsoft red dot...if I remember correctly, some more expensive type claims their higher cost attribute to them able to hold the zeroing regardless to jolts and recoils and etc...but that was 6 years ago when I last dabble in airsoft.
Besides, back then people already start buying Holosun stuff.
PLAGF usually don't carry non-standard issue gear, if they do those typically of limited piece.
Possibly a mockup version?
what unit are these guys? loadout seems to be better than regular PLA infantry but what they are practicing seems to be regular infantry stuff.
