Boots for the Rocket Force. According to the Weibo poster, the design of the soles are different from those of other branches. This was done to increase anti-slip properties.

Kind of a moot point since no one is ever going to be stupid or powerful enough to fight a land war on Chinese soil.

But it’s a bad idea to issue special boots to only your strategic forces such that they are easily identifiable from their footprints!

If anti-slip is the main difference and benefit, they should stop penny pinching and/or trying to status flex and issue these as standard to all armoured crews. That way it would be standard to see a mix of these anti-slip boot prints and normal boot prints so strategic missile unit tracks would look little different from regular armour formations.

Unlikely in the short term, this tec is good but overwhelming.
It really a problem with many of the digital equipment right now that it gives so much info for the operator that in the absence of AI it takes way to much time to prosses them , it basically creating a bottleneck in decision making , since there too much data to analyze.
And it required a complete overhaul of that data infrastructure.

One of those digital platoon will have about , 30 guys running around ,each with more data then you had before(heart beat sensor , location data, audio feed, text chat , and a possible video feed ) plus about 4 drones. That more then 10X data been gathered and transmitted ,also this data need to be communicated and processed , but you don't have 10X man , and not 10X radio equipment.
And you also can't have local hubs like in the civilian world , you can't have 1 mortar shell take out the entire platoon internet.

You just don't have the ability to oversee everything , even down to the squad level it bit too much ,a fireteam leader need to manage a drone , a 4 man voice channel in fireteam , a channel with the squad leader and maybe the platoon, that is on top of the normal duties of the fireteam leader. As anyone who had to be in a voice call with 4 man yelling at each other , that in it self is quite a challenge.
Just imagine how chaotic your average CS 5 man lobby is , and go from there.

All of these can be solved with training and AI assistance , but these are solutions that will need a mid to long term to implement, so untill then technology will cause more trouble then it's worth.

On that the question of Fire resistance comes in. There are tons of boots like these on the commercial market a lot. Most wouldn’t pass a fire or heat test. The synthetics melt or burn and if your operating in a tank or naval ship and a fire breaks out it’s going to get hot fast. The last place you want synthetic materials burning and melting is around your extremities. Especially your feet. The easy way to do that is to issue a boot that has more Leather/Suede/Nubuck for the uppers and a higher quality sole. This boot has a lot of what looks like synthetic canvas.

Did you confuse the Rocket Force with Army infantry? Why would the Rocket Force be marching on foot and leaving footprints behind? Rocket Force soldiers are motorized troops, many of whom operate off-road TEL vehicles. As such, they spend a lot of time clambering up and down the metallic surfaces of vehicles, putting up and removing camouflage nets, performing maintenance, reloading missiles, and they do so sometimes in the rain or snow. These anti-slip boots are designed precisely for those scenarios.

And speaking of Army infantry, they have been mostly motorized. The days of PLA battle formations moving on foot are long over.

That depends on the PLA they seem interested in expanding their equipment. So far they have bought Exosuits from a Independent Company that makes these solely for anyone who usually lift heavy objects.

I wouldn't be shocked if the PLA would buy their MARS 2.0 system from them considering that the Bloodwing company is getting resources from the PLA such as Firearms, Sidearms and Ammunition.
