Sure. Buying foreign weapons is a double-edged sword. It has good and bad sides.

May be true. But the biggest problem with people who are too smart is that they can't see the hole right under their feet. India is not so smart, it is to their advantage, they need to solve the immediate problems, while continuing with their long-term plans.

China bought Su-27, Kilo class, S-300... China was not rich at that time. But it was the right decision. China can save a lot of money to invest in the economy and society, if he decides to wait 10 or 20 years. But China choose to buy. The same is true for India.

Sadly, it's not good news for China or Pakistan. India faces many difficulties, but that does not mean they will give up. India is like a bicycle, the speed may be slow, but it keeps going. China needs to be careful and not look down on them.
Certainly. And I've pointed that out many times in discussions regarding India.

But ultimately, it is an odd and worthwhile thing to ponder about. Almost every developing country is this metaphorical bicycle. I can say that Pakistan will eventually "reach", or Indonesia will or Vietnam will.

The idea is to catch up fast enough. There is no fixed goal. Development never stops. It's a moving target. If you have a Volkswagen, you'd want a Mercedes. If you have a Merc, you'd want a Bentley. But by then, they'd have moved to luxury yatchs and Business jets.

1. Pakistan, Vietnam, Indonesia are bicycles, but they do not have the population, area and huge resources like India. An Indian bicycle can be many times more dangerous than a Vietnamese, Pakistani or Indonesian bicycle.

2, The graph grows like a sinusoid
It goes to the top, then it goes to the bottom. The scenario of China continuously growing and expanding its distance with India is not realistic. It is similar to Britain and Germany, the United States and China.

My view is not that India will catch up and overtake China. At first we talked about the problem of India having difficulty developing weapons. That's why I say "Bicycles", they have difficulties, but they will solve problems related to engines, stealth fighters, hypersonic weapons. Indians just need to break their own limits, that's enough.

There are many people who try to mock India because India buys a lot of weapons from abroad, but they are ignoring the fact that buying weapons from abroad brings many benefits to India and it is not forever. .

India is backward and incompetent, so it tries to buy everything it needs and can. He spared no money, in order to close the gap with the great powers, using the money to address the weakness of the lack of skills, experience and capacity in the local military industry.
For India at present, technology is more important than money, and money can easily be replenished by surpluses from exports.
Now I know you are being sarcastic, because India doesn't have trade surplus

But China can create a gap vs India as wide as USA has vs China of today.

If China takes the right steps - in the future China will be the US of 2020 while India is the China of 2015.

People can't tell you are being serious or sarcastic, because what you says are so far from reality.
Check this year's global hunger index. India is ranked 101 out of 116 countries, behind Pakistan or even North Korea, let alone Vietnam or Indonesia. And you talk about India's huge resources. To do what? Even many African countries are doing better.
When China bought some rice from India, India laughed at China instead of taking a look at their own situation. China wasn't in any food shortage, but was preparing for the worst. That's the difference in mentality.
Those who compare India to China never understand one thing: culture. When comparing China to Japan, or Vietnam to China, at least there are some similarities in culture, to say it lightly.
What's the similarities between India and China? Population, and that's it.

1. India has more resources, population and territory than Indonesia, Vietnam and Pakistan.
2. If all four countries are enemies of China. So India is the most dangerous enemy

Is the global hunger index and my views in conflict? And no African country shares a border with China.

Compare India with China? Comparison of what? Economy, culture, education, level of development? I am 100% sure that the content of the previous discussion has nothing to do with these issues, and I have never concluded that India will catch up and surpass China. My view is that India is a potential threat and should not be underestimated.

But even then, India struggles to develop subsonic cruise missiles ( having claimed to have got ToT for Supersonic from Russia), Tanks, Aircrafts etc. India must be wishing that it never got access to international weapon markets and be constrained like China was.

You are talking out of thin paper without grasp of reality, don't even know India has trade deficit for decades. What's there to discuss with you.
India on paper has lots of potential, sure. But it always underperform. It''s people like you that need to explain this and include it in your analysis, not people like me.

I was wrong in the data, and I frankly admit it.

But there are idiots who have problems with reading comprehension.
