Ok, if the contract is still signed in 2027, the first deliveries of Rafales to the IAF could not begin until 2030 at the earliest:

Well, with rafale line overload, it's hardly surprising.
But it isn't problem per se, many air forces are still buying non stealth jets.
Problem is lack of procurement of stealth ones, or any substantive plan to mitigate that.

Well, the problem is more that one of the primary prospective adversaries they're facing will have about 1000 5th gens in service (ignoring existing 4.5th gens, AEWC, EW plane disparities) by the time the first of this new Rafale order begins delivery.

If the IAF was facing a different adversary then a lack of near term stealth fighter option would be a far less glaring issue.

I always thought that exactly this attitude of India shows that they absolutely don't consider conflagration with China anyhow likely. It's all pure public rhetorics.

What do you know about masochism?
Fast forward 30 years, and indians are still complaining about GE bullying them(I guess full career of the guy giving the speech).

F404 series are great engines no doubt, but this great, they're not. Well, at least you can become a respectable engineering guru by complaining for 30 years...
