It was too low. Similar to the Polish F-16 there was no way for the pilot surviving barring some miracle.
I'd note that tejas have zero zero ejection seats, if it wasn't in a dive it would be survivable.
Another angle. looks like the pilot overestimated how much clearance he had as the plane were doing aerobatics displays right up to the point it crashed.

Looks like pilot error to me. Way too common in airshow unfortunately.

It was trying a low pass after a barrel roll. Either the pilot misjudged the speed and altitude or the plane didn't react the way he thought.
