LCA Tejas is a single engine, light weight, highly agile, multi-role supersonic fighter.
It has quadruple digital fly-by-wire Flight Control System (FCS) with associated advanced flight control laws.
The aircraft with delta wing is designed for 'air combat' and 'offensive air support' with 'reconnaissance' and 'anti-ship' as its secondary roles.
"Extensive use of advanced composites in the airframe gives a high strength to weight ratio, long fatigue life and low radar signatures," the release said.
Tejas is equipped with state-of-the-art features like glass cockpit, zero-zero ejection seat, inflight refueling probe and jam-proof AESA Radar, among others, which make the aircraft "more lethal," it said.
LCA has come a long way in terms of development and presently available in Air Force fighter & twin seater and LCA Navy fighter and twin seater.
Other variants like LCA LIFT (Lead in fighter trainer) and MK-2 are being developed for LCA Tejas.
Aero India provides a platform to various national and international aerospace and defence companies to showcase their advanced products and capabilities to explore business opportunities, it was noted.

Well, that's it, I'm convinced, I've decided to sell my BYD and buy a brand new LCA Tejas right now!
Millitary aviation is not just about fighter jets apart from fighter jets Attack helicopters , Utility Helicopters , AWACS , Transport aircrafts and drones also play an important role only few people know that apart from various under production or under development fighter jets India also makes awesome Millitary helicopters and is also working on an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle called GHATAK its a 15 tonne stealth fighter jet powered by dry variant of Indian made kaveri turbofan engine
Kaveri turbofan engine was meant to power LCA Tejas , it produced 52KN ot Dry thrust but only 73KN of wet thrust which was not enough so it was decoupled from Tejas program and GE F-404 and F-414 engines were selected
This drone doesn’t require the afterburner section so it has been removed and it will be using the dry variant of kaveri engine which is going through certification in Russia

USA is trying to sell this 50 years old aluminium junk (with RCS of a truck) to India for last 20 years but this time they are calling it F-21 and they will also display F-35 in Aero India 2023 I don't understand the point in displaying F-35 in India when it's not being offered to India

It's foolish for India to import a 4th generation fighter jet from abroad (particularly from USA) when Tejas MK2 would enter mass production in 2027

if you're known to be prone to prestigious purchases - naturally they'll try to sell as hard as they can.

They should have tried to sell F-35 instead although F-35 is expensive to operate and would require a whole new infrastructure for maintenance but since Indian Fifth Generation fighter jet would enter mass production only in 2030-2035 they could have considered buying these jets to make themselves familiar with Fifth Generation technology
But this 50 year old F-16 was rejected by IAF in MMRCA 1.0 and will again get rejected in MMRCA 2.0
IAF called these jets 'OBSOLETE'
