The US is making sure that India will never have cyber sovereignty, they will try to make India a China v2.0 but they will make sure no mistakes are made. Its always weird to see those far right nationalist doing everything they can to sell out their nation to the west.
Yes. The US and EU have smartened up after their blunder with China

Now they will make sure 100% that India will become a puppet before selling them Western IP Services and no ToT

India can forget about any critical ToT on any industry. The West will only sell them ready equipment from their countries or assembled in India goods.

Yeah the middle income trap has been laid.

But i do think India is a special case given their population numbers maybe it might be enough to burst through the middle income trap.

We will see. I personally doubt it.

IMO they made a fundamental mistake when they based their entire economic model on IT services instead of manufacturing.

IT cant absorb all these hundreds of millions of Indians looking for work.

Modi seems to have realised the mistake and he tried to fix this with the "Make in India" program, but with his classic incompetence he is currently failing.

Even if India wants to switch to ultra cheap manufacturing which employs lots of people, the coming 4th Industry Revolution is going to destroy any of India's dreams.

IMO only way out is to become a full on US puppet in order to get some economic benefits from the West

I assume its on proportion of the size of the economies

China has 3x India's gdp but "only" ~2x the FDI

Obviously it is difficult to compare FDI because AFAIK India has opened up some industry sectors (and downsized SOEs) so FDI is flowing on this "new" territory

But yes, India's FDI is impressive and it seems that their most investment is coming from Singapore
China's GDP was more than 5 times larger than that of India for 2020.

The entire US - India relationship is simple. It's the exact same relationship US had with Pakistan while Afghanistan was important to America.

The entire US relationship, aid, support, loans, to Pakistan etc... all revolved around Afghanistan. Pakistan helped US with Afghanistan; the Afghan war couldn't have been done without Pakistan support. And what did Pakistan get over the last 15 years? Did it become more powerful?

US will eventually ditch India just like it ditched Pakistan.

India is trying to regain control with their new cyber laws but the socmed companies are fighting back.

I used to think it was stupid for China to ban international socmed companies but now I totally see why it was necessary.

Do you remember it really kicked off after the Xinjiang riots in 2009?
