Hong-Kong Protests

Wrong. More of Japan behaving like a de facto vassal state of the US, something which resonate with her.
Really, I don't understand why so many of these kids born after 1997 say "life before the handover was better". Reminds me of that anti-communist guy who said communism sucks because he lived through it, but he said he was born in the 1990s, when Russia was a democracy.

I mean Senator Marsha Blackburn just said that China's 5000 years of history was just cheating and stealing. And some Hong Kongers and Taiwanese are jumping on it and saying, yes China is bad! Help us! @Gatekeeper

Japanese values = one thing only: Social Darwinism with pre-Meiji feudal influence. The Japanese elites only grudging accepted liberal democracy at face value after being nuked and firebombed.
Plus, US troops are stationed in Japan. It's basically a symbolic restraint of the Japanese government and people and acts as a gun towards their heads to accept Western dominance. In short, they got, in crude terms (Also, sorry in advance if I offended anyone), "neutered", twice: once during World War 2 and, in my opinion, another time during the 80's when Japan and the US were engaged in a trade war.

I think posters want to stay on topic of HK so I won't add in some rebuttals. I might make a new thread about US-Japan relation. Either only military or in general. Doing so would provide the necessry space and depth to cover the big topic. But ya know... it'll be like 10 vs 1 that would take enoumous time commitment. So it really is "might make".

Can't wait to see the user start spewing out how it's fake and invented by the CCP to smear the great Japanese Self-Defense/Liberation of Asia War against Chinese and American aggression.

In addition to a US-Japan relations thread, a general Imperial Japan at war thread might also be necessary. But again, 10 vs 1, long term commitment.. we'll see. But up front in extrordinaryly brief form, Unit 731 did happen. I can't leave your statment hanging entirely unaddressed. That's all I will say on that matter in this thread.
