Well, if he dis stand outside the consulate. He'll be arrested and he knows it. Such a brave revolutionary. He ought to be more like this idiot. (Why do they all look ugly and looks like joshua)?

His sign actually says resist turning red, and the only way to do that, is independence.

What exactly is turning red? Isn't his food, water, and electricity, is that red?

This reminds me of a phrase in the 1980s, when anti-commies where running high in the west. And the mindless morons I debated with at university usually comes out with:

"Better dead than red"! Lol

I think it is naive to think there's no such think as economic "refugees". By far the migrants trying to get into the UK are economic "refugees". Like people from Syria trying to escape from war, they are refugees and they are seeking better opportunities for their families, so they are economics as well.

If you prefer to call them economic migrants, that's fair enough. But it still doesn't change who they are. They are still economic refugees. If they were asylum seekers, they would have seem asylum the minute they arrived at a "safe" country. But alas, no they go past a number of countries just so they can arrived at a country of their choice to better their lives.

Again it is extremely naive to think that the western nations would not offered "asylum to people who has contact with their families and getting financial support from their families. Western nations have shown time and again quite willing to offer asylum status to "political" refugees if it has high propaganda value. And anything against big bad commies like China is a high enough value to give asylum to those seeking it with or without financial and family support.

This is the reality we are living in today.

Just to make it clear, what I was referring to was specific legal definitions of refugee and asylum claimants, not the general reasons why people move to another country. Obviously these rules can be bent in anyway a country wants, but that is generally what is on paper.

I said that before, they are all really ugly. I once mentioned it might be some sort of weird incel thing where this is how they feel more powerful.

First thing out of the way, I really despise this BBC link. There is already some opinion in the article, and the further opinion (labeled as "Analysis") is directly mixed in with the facts, not displayed as a separate article. To be fair, I'm surprised they labeled it at all. Do they even do this for other kinds of articles? I haven't seen it before, so it really does seem like a straight influence play.

Media criticism aside now. What is really interesting about this arrest is a couple things.

1. One of the charges is money laundering. If they try this case in open court, we may finally see some of the money trails that we've long suspected. Although large western media news outlets will try to say otherwise, HK courts are still relatively transparent.

2. US is sacrificing the small fry fish to create news. Who heard of this guy before his arrest? I saw exactly one article in SCMP about him, never heard his name before.

Doing a quick google search, I found only 2 articles from before 2020, one from 2017 where he calls for the formation of a conscript army of "all adults in Hong Kong". Not sure how something so stupid made the news. Like publicizing a story about a kid who thinks "all grown ups should be nice to each other so we don't have any fights". Hilariously, 3 years later the guy is technically an adult now and still doesn't look like he could carry his own wet clothes, let alone serve in an army.

I initially thought this could be a calculated plan before US election day to bring attention to HK, but this guy seems too stupid.

Obviously most of the posters here are biased, but anyone with 1 shred of a brain should be able to put together what is going on now. The groups being idolized by the western media are basically an assembly of the most stupid and naive individuals.

Kind of related to the previous article on Guo

Balding claimed that the document was commissioned by Apple Daily, a Hong Kong-based tabloid that is frequently critical of the Chinese government. A spokesperson for Apple Daily confirmed it had worked with Balding on the document.

So probably we will see articles as "Chinese interference in US elections" now, even if Jimmy is sponsored by USA
