The 25th anniversary is coming, and someone is still angry:rolleyes:

Particularly angry because they can only bitch about it, and can't do anything else.... their country is in a mess: inflation to the moon, they're more brits going to foodbanks than pubs, massive strikes/industrial actions, likelihood of blackouts, Scotland wants free... etc.

Years ago, I read about a conversation between Margaret Thatcher and Deng Xiaoping during the early stage of negotiation on the return of Hong Kong.

Initially, Thatcher refused to return Hong Kong and Kowloon Peninsular to China, saying that it is ceded to Britain in perpetuality. To which Deng answered calmly : "Then we will take Hong Kong back the same way you take it from us." At that point, the Iron Lady softened.

Not sure if it actually occurred or not. But it just seem fitting to address this poor guy's frustration.

The iron lady thought she had a pair of iron balls after defeating Argentina...and so was all gung ho about meeting the 5 foot 2 Chinaman.

But Deng had a bigger pair, which were made from titanium.

Based Deng:

''He said that the Chinese could walk in and take Hong Kong back later today if they wanted to,'' says Lady Thatcher.
