China really need to stop merely censoring June 4th like it never happened and instead it needs to vigorously teach what really happened in its schools. Because China’s official silence means the western vastly exaggerated version of events is the only version, and ordinary Chinese citizens can be easily swayed by western propaganda on the subject when they are first exposed to them.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think that China teaches about what happened on June 4th

It is not taught in Chinese schools and no Chinese publications mention the event explicitly. The closest reference to is a Chinese ambassador's memoir that has a chapter called "Storm Clouds Gather in Beijing".

That's sad. It only gives credence to Western propaganda that CPC has a lot to hide. No part of history should remain censored, for it only gives birth to conspiracies.

I've always advocated taking an offensive approach.

What China needs to do is to film a Steven Soderburg style movie about the June 4th, hiring top talents. Pacing it much like Contagion or Traffic, telling the story from multiple angles and perspectives, that of the student, soldier and foreign influence. The movie needs to have violence on par with movies like Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan, it might even need to have a sex scene with tits.

(Imagine these two as PLA soldiers barely out of their teens)

(Eva Green......artful sex scenes to denote the innocence and passion of youth...

Recreating the event as a tragic but complex combination of circumstances reflecting a nation in transition. However, it also needs to capture the color revolution elements and manipulation and sabotage, particularly by ROC elements. It needs to humanize everyone involved, playing up everyone as victims of manipulation in varying degree (yes, even the foreign agent).

It might needs to be a 3 part movie like lord of the Ring.

The title...."Summer Night/夏夜"

The film clips from it will reverberate for decades, overshadowing all these morons and their fake BS sob stories.

Just for context I'm a late Gen Y Millennial, and without sounding like an absolute snob I attended a prestigious local school in Hong Kong.

When I was in school and the topic of Tiananmen was brought up in our world history class, I was taught absolute propaganda bollocks about how PLA soldiers were most likely on drugs so that they could mow down civilians without regard. I specifically remember my history teacher saying "it was the look in the soldier's eyes that you could tell they were on drugs".... and people back home wonder why the education system in Hong Kong needs to be reformed. If the alternative of not talking about it at all is being taught absolute bullshit about what actually happened, I'd almost prefer not to talk about it at all.

My only "saving grace" was that my parents have always been Pro-Beijing/establishment, and it only wasn't till I went to college in the US where I had interactions with fellow foreign students from the Mainland that I started questioning the crap I was taught about Tiananmen and the CPC.

Sarcasm: Right, that the first thing a mech infantry company commander would ask for to facilitate nigh operations with live round, executed by a bunch of kids barely out of their teens, scared out of their minds: DRUGS.

Looks like your history teacher has no experience with drug nor dismounted night ops.

Well, the June 4th event does appear in history textbooks in universities. However, few teachers mention it on the lessons, let alone explaining how it eventually developed into a chaos. So most students no nothing about the event. The official record of the event is on the State Council's website. What bothers me is that people would rather believe the fragments of information spreaded by western media than actually read that record, which explains the problem in a clearer way.

Which is why a movie is needed.

A movie is a bit too far(you can't always trust the film industry in China these days), maybe a good documentary first.
Nah, that is the whole point, you need violence and tits, that's how you take control of the narrative. Actually, I'm talking about 3 movies. One to set the background. Two for the action, Three for "Where they are now".

But that's not to say I want to Michal Bay the shit out of it, maybe Speilberg it, a tad bit, but definitely Soderberg.

People might not love FREEDUM and MURICA, but they definitely love tits and guns. Nobody's gonna use clips from a documentary.
