Just watch trump press conference He would restrict Chinese graduate student access to university He will review and treat Hongkong the same as mainland. I guess those people who are rioting happy now Because soon there will be even less employment for them

China won't be affected much as Shanghai is the new financial center of China and even profited becasue she will get windfall of hundred qualified graduate student

But China need to take counter punch and retaliate otherwise they will be the punching bag Those mandarin need to stiffen their back. forget about win win exhortation and live with zero sum game

It is only "fair" that the US revokes special privileges for Hong Kong. With the introduction of national security law in Hong Kong, the US can no long manipulates and creates chaos in Hong Kong to destabilize China. With Hong Kong no longer of any value to the US, why grant her special privileges ? ;)

Foreign companies did not set up shops in Hong Kong because there is money to be made in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, ASEAN countries, or even Hong Kong. They moved there because there is money to be made from China. Now that Hong Kong is treated no different from China, these companies might as well move to China where the money is. Hong Kong's loss will be China's gain.

Furthermore, there is an added benefit (for China) that Hong Kong will now be directly dependent on China, instead of indirectly (as the gateway to China), for her economic well being. This will force Hong Kong to integrate better with China. Hong Kong has been lukewarm towards the Greater Bay Area Initiative. Now expect her to fully embrace it. Hong Kong has 3 top notch universities, and many quality people and infrastructure. It will not take long for her to reinvent herself and move away from an highly real estate dependent economy, and contributes to and shares in China's prosperity.

Wonder how can Trump ever face Xi in.
their next meeting. Trump want to be in the club of big players and stuff, but are using underhanded methods like destabilising hk, attempting to change rules, instead of taking Chinese competition head on by pushing for american innovation.

Easy. He can face him because he's got no shame and devoid of moral compass!

the actions of Four officers where face termination for their actions somehow is worse than the actions of thousands of Officers who enact official policy

Unbelievable and disgusting! How can you even dare to compare the broad day light murder of an unarmed man by 4 people that should know better to a professional police force with the upmost restraint doing a difficult job day in and day out for 9 months non-stop.

Even the English born police inspector's family was personally targeted. The force was Subjected to daily violent attacks, families personally tageted. Facing arrows, spears and Molotov cocktails every time they put their uniform on. Yet all through this, not one death by their hands! And never ever dishonoured their uniform!

And yet here you are compare them with the four officers in Minneapolis! Disgusting , just disgusting!

Trump's action are toothless. It only hurts Hong Kong and any foreign corporations that want to use Hong Kong to do business with China. Like does China take all of Hong Kong's money it makes. If that's the case, why haven't these measures been enacted before because that would be a violation of Hong Kong's sovereignty too yet no one from Hong Kongers to the West have mentioned it. The less money Hong Kong gets and sooner its demise. In the future they'll have place yellow sticker on their forehead so people know which homeless beggars on the street to give money to.

^That gives me mixed feelings, one one hand that officer is on our side... on the other hand that Chinese politician's got no guts talking back to the white guy... it's not the officer's fault in any way but lol

There shouldn't be any mixed feelings. The "Chinese" politician ceases to be "chinese" when he chooses to be on the side of the thugs. In fact, I think he would be proud to shout the slogan we are not Chinese, we are "Hong kongers".

These politicians are scums, they swore their oath to China before taking up office, they swore to uphold the law. They are quite happy to take their $700,000 annual salary. Yet they are out on the streets encouraging law breakers. (They are careful not getting caught themselves)! Which is why you heard the English police officer said to him; "you sir, are a disgrace to the legislature"! Bravo!

At last, an Australian woman Rebecca Nunan has been sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for dropping breaks from a bridge and assaulting police officers.

Now, if you ask me, I would deport her after serving her sentence.
