Hong Kong Taxi drivers showing their support for China and one country, two system concept by flying national flag on their car.

This just to show not ALL Hong Kongers support the "democracy" demonstrators. The situation is much more complex, and requires complex solutions! FB_IMG_1566589959042.jpg FB_IMG_1566589964715.jpg FB_IMG_1566589947698.jpg FB_IMG_1566589973026.jpg

These young protesters are wrecking HK economy. It's already teetering on technical recession getting closer on zero bound.
HKMA is still able to defend the peg okay, but if this drags on, HK will be badly hurt.

The more we debate with him, the more I think something is missing! I can't put my finger on it, but something is definitely not there. As we said, there's a couple of penny short of a full shilling somewhere.

Yeah, it seems like he totally ignores well reasoned answers to his posts and comes back with more posts that are extreme and hardly related to the topic in hand.
I dont understand him either.

What's the point? 2019 is not 1989. China is not Soviet Union. China is on the way to its prime at the moment, unlike Soviet Union at that time, a dying empire about to implode. Furthermore, Hong Kong is not Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania, which had their own languages and unique cultures before the Soviet takeover.

Yes, its absolutely pointless. Keeps coming out to "protest"! Its just like a two-year old wanting candy in the shop, and the parents keep saying NO! But the kids persist in screaming for candy in the street all the way home. We all seen that sometime in our lives, and we all think to ourselves what a horrible spoilt child that is!

The fact is we all know there is a minority in Hong Kong that wants change, and opposes everthing Hong Kong government does. But keep coming out everyday doesn't increase the numbers of people opposing it, it just the SAME people doing the same thing, it just that there's more mobility and better communication and coordination.

So why bother? The real reasons for keep coming out are for external consumption:

To maintain pressure (like a two-year old) and give MSM more ammunition to feed their audience to show how "bad" Hong Kong is.

To get China to response, so China can be blame and put China in a tight spot. (look at the way the Brits tried with the consulate general staffer, until it backfired on them, because he was actually having a great time sampling the local delights in Shenzhen. And now you don't hear a thing, and the whole episode was dropped like a dead donkey. Lol).

These demonstrators will have a rude awakening when POTUS decides to cut a deal with China, and they, too, will be dropped like a dead donkey!

Exact there is no point. As long as the protest is peaceful on do not infringe on other's freedom. The government has more resources and can just wait them out and let it fizzle out. Support for the government and police is actually growing daily as protesters grow aggressive and transgress fellow Hongkonger’s freedom. On the overall scheme of things, they are only hurting themselves by being unstable and showing that rule of law is not being respected. Over time Hong Kong can easily be bypass and will become less relevant and they only have themselves to blame. Sorry to say life will go on with or without them,

Of course there are external forces that would like to see an unstable Hong Kong just because it will spite China. But again, there is no cure for gullibility, Will just have to wait this out as theirs is hopeless cause.
