Hong-Kong Protests

That's why it is absurd that the HK government keeps appointing these judges in the name of impartiality. The HK government needs to take an active roles to appoint judges and fill important positions. As when the shit hits the fan, the HK government would be all alone without any allies if they keep playing the impartial and small government game.

As for Carrie Lam, unless the justice department decided to prosecute her or the ICAC decided to charge her for corruption, there really not much the oppositions can do.

I agree common law system in HK is mainly geared towards enabling MNC's to make money in HK, with secondary emphasis on keeping the city and citizens safe.

If British common law judiciary system can't tell apart from a thug and a political activist, what's the use of it in case of national level crisis? Would any other common wealth nations practicing the same basis of law tolerate such level of violence for such prolonged period time? Would they tolerate those alleged protesters destroying public and private properties alike, physically injuring unarmed common people, seriously threatening local way of life? Would their media portray them as peaceful protesters?

1C2S is toothless as well to save the city and its common people. Too much shirking of responsibilities of those in high office. It's the damn time to resolve it, show your strength, not time to save own sorry asses from blame. HKPF is the unsung hero's here taking the brunt of crisis and blame. They are the real patriots trying to save the city!

Anyone has a video of protesters at military garrison and soldiers raising a yellow flag as a warning?

I swear, I think these protesters are goading China to act. I think they might send in the PAP, but after Xi waits and let the city burn itself down first.

It will be the strategic move. Wait them out and the more destruction the world witness, the less they will keep saying this is a peaceful movement.

No one will argue with China sending in PAP if this turns into full blown rioting and people start dying.

Here are some of the videos.

and now I add this: disgusting suggestions like shooting people or living them on a ship should be moderated, or the SDF will turn into a cesspool

cheers

You have only yourself to blame. There was a month of literally no political talk in this forum until you, not anyone else, broke the rules posting subjects everyone was told not to discuss. Then you even dared to claim that the silence was because members couldn't defend against what you were posting. And now you're complaining about what you started...? What crazy train did you come off from?

Yes, everyone, this is the mentality of the people who think they know better than everyone else hence why the self-anointed authority to police everyone's thoughts. You're not allowed to think. Someone in here brought up the dystopian future of 1984 playing before our eyes regarding China. Well behold... the fireman that starts the fires not put them out and then whines when he loses control of fire.

It is still peaceful protests according to the western media.

Here is a video of taxi driver who lost control of his car and got beaten half to death.

When a reporter got hit by a petrol bomb, the media remained silence and the Hong Kong Journalists Association didn't even bother to condemn. Pepper spray by police would be front page a few weeks ago and a full press conference would be held by Hong Kong Journalists Association to condemn the HKPF.

The artist, Horseshoe, was beaten by thugs in the street of Monkok. A guy came to her rescue. Then a Australian journalist escorted her to the police station.

Kudos to the australian journalists. Restore my faith in you guys in HK!

What this show is that no one is safe, beating old guys and women. There just no hope.

Reminder for everyone to avoid becoming personal with each other please.

Lol. Just re-read what I wrote. It wasn't meant to be personal as to Pan asian.

It was meant for the religious institutions harbouring rioters!

Sorry for the mis-wrote.

Yes, sorry to put guys through this. But it is with this types of revelation that we learned and that we know the MSM and those behind the MSM is lying through its teeth!

Your substantive contents are highly valued, so are your effort and time much appreciated.

I begin to see HK living in a made up reality world with tightly scripted role to play, forced onto her as a result of far bigger powers' ambitions, contest of will, dominance and money. She won't escape from this fate regardless of what they believe or are led to believe. She is trapped in an intense power struggle for money and dominance among global powers since the Europeans set foot in there. A bell weather crossroad of realism and geopolitics, money and power. It a rugged piece of rock the true nature of which is that it's an appendage of China, a far bigger, exponentially more powerful country that stands for the 1C in 1C2s. This 1C is the hard cold fact and they can't get away from it, even with all these violent manifestations of cognitive dissonance. Violent frictions are bound to happen as young kids can't tell what is real and what is not. Far sharper minds in HK can capitalize on now not so subtle difference between a scripted realty show and the actual reality that some are trying to wake up to.
