I don't think H20 will be launched until WS15 is mature enough

For USAF, B21 is just a normal replacement to update their fleet
China has no problem designing and building aircraft that can have engines upgraded over time.

If H-20 is designed for low bypass engines I think it can use WS-10C easily. Of course, this is moot if WS-15 is ready now, or soon.

So far, none new Chinese military aircraft/helicopter/uav had been waiting for planned engine to get matured. Without getting planned mature engines, and using best alternatives available, they might finish most of the works such as test flights, pilots training, ground personel training, bases building, overall airborne/ground operations and maintenance of such aircraft (it is all new in PLAF), and all that with limited first batch of several aircraft.

LAMOOOO

who told you ? H-20 propulsion will be WS-15.

H-20 is too secretive that even close PLA watchers or local experts have no clue about engines.

WS-10 non-afterburner variant is under development. WS-18 next variant is also under development. another solid rumor about new engine being under development especially for heavy, long range bomber..

most probably WS-15 will not be the main engine of H-20.

Why use WS20, it is obviously not suitable

Can a premature release of H20 bring anything to the Chinese government? If it doesn't bring any benefit, why can't we wait until WS15 is mature enough before releasing H20?
China didn't wait for WS-10 to be ready when they started the production run for J-10 and J-11.

China also didn't wait for WS-15 to be ready when they started the production run for J-20.

China didn't wait for WS-20 to be ready when they started the production run for Y-20 as well.

So why would China delay the introduction and production run for H-20 while waiting for WS-15/WS-18/any new, WIP engine to be ready? Besides, China already has working and proven WS-10B & WS-10C engines to choose from as a stopgap measure.

true. PLAAF don't need to wait for WS-15 even if they are planning to use WS-15 in H-20.. China have now options in engines for H-20.

another thing, WS-15 is not too far away. we are very close. ;)

If we want next gen engines, there is a lot of development into Rotating Detonation Engines, which is tremendous.

During the airshow we saw some examples, they were quite differently shaped, so probably not so easy to upgrade to this type later. Maybe we will see them in drones launched from H-20 instead.

Note the model of a flying-wing bomber (or maybe UCAV?) on the wall. The image is from the CCTV show called Military Technology. Does anyone know the context of this image? Who are these people, and where were they? The model reminds me of what's seen at the PLAAF's RCS testing facility (lower-right, second image).

The one on the right look like the CH-805 UAV from 2016.

At least it can tease some H-20 rumors out.

同时也期待H-20的尽快问世,但有人托梦说,和B-21在使用方式上会有非常大的不同,那也就很可能导致最终的东西虽然也重视隐身但还是挺不一样。
"Also look forward to the H-20 coming out as soon as possible, but some (sources told me) that it will be very different from the B-21 in the way it is used, and that will likely lead to something that is still quite different in the end although it also values stealth."
