The Germans will just join the British again as usual.
Knowing the French they just want overall project leadership and to set the hard specs.
There was another news (from TWZ) saying that the German may team up with UK & Sweden for the 6th Gen fighter project. It looks like there will be a very long period of talking among different parties to get it over.

Japan blocks all changes in GCAP. They want to avoid any delays. Germany might team up with Sweden and Spain and just use the GCAP turbine.

However, I think it's more useful to go all in on the combat drones. FCAS will already be outdated when it enters service in 2040s.

The ASW frigate change will keep more money and work in Germany. That is ok.

The AEW&C seems like something Airbus Defense could work on. The GlobalEye seems, to me, like an underpowered platform for Central Europe. Maybe make a joint program to use the A321LR airframe with more powerful electronics systems also made by the Swedes.

The Eurofighter upgrades are long overdue. They should also add support for some kind of glide bombs, possibly the winged JDAM, and an air launched rocket similar to LORA. They should add a naval strike cruise missile.
The radar seems worse than the latest Leonardo radar. But whatever. It is better than keeping the utterly obsolete old radar.
They should look at finally funding EJ200 engine upgrades. Nothing for that here. But this should be done European wide.

If anything I think they aren't upgrading enough aircraft. It does not say the numbers but I doubt this is for more than 40 aircraft. That €2 billion. Clearly not enough.
They are upgrading every aircraft

Take a look at this statement. Indian may have a chance for a new 6th Gen fighter jet project.

NEVER ever and - see crosspost in the Indian thread! - I met yesterday a very knowledgeable Indian analyst and we discussed lots of issues, events and programs and in the end he told me to avoid IDRW at all cost, it‘s a waste of bandwidth and time and most of all brain-cells! It‘s PURE BS and only a click-bait site.

Germany to spend $41 billion over the next 4 years on space defense projects

"We are strengthening our systems against disruptions and attacks," Pistorius said, explicitly pointing to "cybersecurity for all space systems."
Pistorius said the goal is to establish a resilient system consisting of satellites, ground stations, secure launch capabilities and related services. The investments are to guarantee "both protection and effectiveness."
"Russia and China have in recent years rapidly expanded their capabilities for conducting warfare in space," the German defense minister said. "They can disrupt, jam, manipulate or even physically destroy satellites."
Pistorius pointed out that two IntelSat satellites used by the German military are currently being shadowed by Russian reconnaissance satellites, while China is carrying out highly agile proximity manoeuvres that could be likened to aerial combat exercises in space.
Satellite networks, he cautioned, are an Achilles' heel of modern societies: "Anyone who attacks them can paralyze entire states."

If Europe wants to put military satellite constellations up they will need their own RLVs. And funding these EU wide would also be necessary. Instead we are seeing Galileo fall into obscurity.
