Heh, chomping at the bit to stroke his ego is exactly what a lot of posters are doing. If Pelosi insisted on going, there is no realistic way for China to stop it. As China has mentioned before, the response to this change to the status quo would be to further change the status quo to its benefit. Whether that means regular intrusions of Taiwanese airspace or territorial seas or a full on invasion, I don't know, but it'd be absurd for China to start a war with the US as a knee jerk reaction rather than at a time of its choosing.
I don't think they want all out war.......yet. But they could push things close to edge so it would make this kind political stunts more unpalatable to the U.S. the problem now is that the U.S. military has to be now not only on edge but also interpreting every single Chinese move so a missunderstanding doesn't lead to a shooting war. All of that because the vanity of an old witch.

I'm sorry you guys, I don't know if I'm harping on too much about this, but this stock really really bothers me.

I was mentioning to a couple friends earlier that all of this feels incredibly strange, and is absolutely riddled with coincidence (Right after Ba Yi? Really? F-35s grounded? During RIMPAC?). The fact that a stock called $HKD of all things (Note: The company is called
AMTD Digital) randomly soars 16,000% and becomes worth 400 Billion dollars, despite being a random 50 person company that only just got on the stock market on 7/15.. it's just far too much of a coincidence to bear. We all know about Pelosi's insider trading nonsense, which only adds further coincidental fuel to the fire.

Am I just schizo-ing out here, and finding connections where there are none, or do others kinda see what I'm saying about this being incredibly incredibly fishy?

I feel this has been common since tiktokers/redditers/youtubrs started trading stocks and crypto?

Nancy Pelosi: Why I’m leading a congressional delegation to Taiwan

Today, America must remember that vow. We must stand by Taiwan, which is an island of resilience. Taiwan is a leader in governance: currently, in addressing the covid-19 pandemic and championing environmental conservation and climate action. It is a leader in peace, security and economic dynamism: with an entrepreneurial spirit, culture of innovation and technological prowess that are envies of the world.
Yet, disturbingly, this vibrant, robust democracy — named one of the freest in the world by Freedom House and proudly led by a woman, President Tsai Ing-wen — is under threat.
In the face of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) accelerating aggression, our congressional delegation’s visit should be seen as an unequivocal statement that America stands with Taiwan, our democratic partner, as it defends itself and its freedom.

There's been random stocks that surge in value, sure; but for Pelosi to come to Taiwan on the day that a random no-name fintech company that had only been on the market for 2 weeks with the $HKD ticker explodes 16,000% in value to become one of the top 20 most valuable companies on earth, I can't in good faith just dismiss it as chance without seeing what others have to say.
What did the people said on r/wallstreetbets?
Last time they also organized some short squeezes.
