good you stood up for the F-35, it's interesting recently LockMart/Pentagon PR went silent about revolutionary transformational game-changer, after two decades of hyping
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that its already in the top 5 most produced jets still in production today. (Also, the other 4 are on their way out)

It has started speaking for itself.

LM as a commercial entity will always hype their own products - no different from any other commercial entities. It is known as advertising.

Those of us who actually follow the program do make an effort to differentiate between hype and substance. So when the F-35 capabilities are stated as a generational leap or transformational in nature, it is a statement of fact and not of hype.

As an example, the F-35's many roles include that of SEAD/DEAD function. In such a role, geolocation capability in terms of threat identification, classification and location accuracy is paramount. The current premier USAF 4th generation SEAD/DEAD platform is the F-16CM and is updated to Release 7 since 2007. The upgrade from Release 6 was driven by the experiences of the SEAD/DEAD campaign in Kosovo. R6 has an angular accuracy of close to 1 degree which even today is considered one of the best in the business because to my knowledge only the Rafale has similar angular accuracy against threat emitters. R7 was at least 2 times improvement in accuracy using interferometry measurements and in much less time. It is much more accurate depending on the sources. In contrast, it is reported that a single F-35 has greater accuracy in geolocation compared to three F-16CM R7 platforms. It should be noted that triangulation in all 4th generation platform require minimum three ship formation (except the F-18E/F Bl;ock 3 which requires two).

I can see you're seriously worried about your friends at LockMart and the Pentagon, but they are doing well, just been a little busy keeping the planet safe from all enemies, domestic, foreign, and alien, but I digress, I'm venturing into Terran's domain, maybe you could bring Jura up to speed Terran??? lol and remember the F-35 is NOT the "alien bird"?, but is the "alien birds" little sister....

... confessed LOL

yes, that the F-35's low speed handling/scissors maneuvering is "off the chart", nothing else will stay with the F-35 once the initial turn and burn wind down to the grunt work, that is also an older study and and purely subjective,,, that does NOT take into account the F-35's L/O and Sensor Fusion advantage, but hey, its a free country, believe whatever you want...

Smart fighter jocks will avoid an engagement with the F-35! they will also certainly avoid an engagement with the F-22! both outstanding LockMart designs!

You are right there are two Heritage studies approximately 3 years apart. The later study dated May 14, 2019 basically reflect the same results compared to the earlier study.

The conversation was about maneuverability and not sensor fusion so that particular chart wan't included. Clearly the F-35 is miles ahead pertaining to situational awareness.
