great pledge, Brother, just, you know Mar 13, 2018

yes, I read your post then and gave you a like, and I've read this one as well and given you a like, I think your formative years of living under communist rule have left you needing a "professional decompression", the airshow is Saturday in Milwaukee! you really need to be there! LOL, maybe you could catch a ride with the Thunderbirds???

In case of Iran ,only regards of S-300 they have two 64N6E2 , four 96L6E and four 30N6E2 ( latest is the fire control radar )

It cover the best part of the spectrum from 2GHz to 12 GHz, with possibly lot of resonance frequencies for any possible angle of F-35.

And this is the S-300 system, Iran posses a range of (road mobile) VHF/UHF radars .

And they have S-300 battery elements/ radars bought on the carboot sale.

It was never an issue with the range, but with the angle.

The radars are quite good to measure distances, the issue is the angular resolution.

So, the tracking issue was true for the semi-active missile seeker heads with 2D VHF radars, but those days are gone.

The Nebo can pinpoint the position of an aircraft from 100 km to a smaller than 500m cube, and that is enough for the missile to get close to see the reflection of the 30N6 from the target.

The missile most likely will see the target from way longer distance, considering it works as a multistatic radar system and doglegging the F-35/B-2/F-22 from "non -stealth" directions.

I will just let the following article respond to Iran's suite of S-300 radars

No conversation about the world’s massive political and economic changes since 2015 is complete without mentioning the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, developed by

.

That became even clearer this week thanks to a somewhat cheeky statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to Iran’s provocative moves in the Persian Gulf and other threats from Tehran. Standing in front of an F-35 jet parked at an Israeli Air Force base, Netanyahu barely held back a smile as he said that

.

He didn’t add the words “undetected by radar,” but it was surely implied.

To understand why that soundbite with the visual backdrop was more than just bluster, you have trace the F-35′s incredible history in the Middle East over the past four years.

You don’t have to be a military genius to know that a supersonic jet that can fly undetected by radar for hundreds of miles will make a difference anywhere in the world. But the F-35′s already powerful impact in the Middle East was multiplied extensively during the months leading up to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. That was still more than a year before the jet was put into service anywhere in the world.

But it was late summer 2015 when

surfaced about how Israelis working on F-35 prototypes had managed to double the jet’s flight and stealth capacity. It wasn’t lost on anyone that the extension meant Israeli Air Force pilots could use the F-35 to fly from Israel to Tehran and back without detection -- and without having to refuel at U.S. air bases in Saudi Arabia or Iraq.

Suddenly, U.S.-Israeli air superiority in the region had risen to a new level. Saudi Arabia had already begun the process of cooperating more with Israel on defense and security matters for some time, something

after President Trump’s election. But the idea of letting Israeli jets land and refuel in that Arab country was still a stretch in 2015. Iraqi leaders were also not receptive to the idea. But the new technology was now rendering the objections moot.

The move only acted to bring the Saudis and the Israelis closer. It was one thing for the two countries to have a common enemy in Iran that was on the verge of getting billions of dollars and a clear, if supposedly delayed, path to a nuclear weapon. But with the new F-35 and its expanded capacities in the picture, there was something more tangible than political promises and intelligence sharing to hang their hopes on.

All of that made it easier for King Salman to

. Mohammad, who is aggressive on defense, wasted little time enhancing military ties with Israel and the U.S. There was even an unconfirmed report that he visited Israel secretly in September 2017.

Yet the most direct effects of the F-35 were still to come. In July 2018,

that Israel had flown a test mission of at least three F-35 jets to Tehran and back from an airbase near Tel Aviv. While never confirmed publicly, a good number of military and political leaders in the region believed and still believe the story. The long-rumored threat the F-35 posed to Iran now seemed like a reality.

Earlier this month, reports in the same Kuwaiti newspaper said that Iran’s military leadership

.

But when Khamenei found out about the mission, he reportedly moved to fire not only Iran’s air force chief but also the long-serving and powerful commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. That’s major impact without even firing a shot.

All of this comes as Turkey’s Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has decided to

from the U.S. Judging by how much his neighbors in the region fear and revere the F-35, this appears to be a ruinous choice.

The impact of the F-35′s development has had a major financial impact, as well. Since reports of the Israeli stealth enhancement first surfaced, Lockheed Martin shares are up more the 75%. The F-35 program is also the

, and it has faced a long history of criticism for that cost.

But considering how much the very existence of the jet has already achieved in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Iran, it may already be more than worth it.
The F-35 has already freaked out Iran and changed everything in the Middle East

NO! just your "frame of reference" opened up, I think if you met me in Milwaukee for the F-35A Demo, and were able to see what that airplane can actually do, have conversation with "Dojo" about the airplane, you'd go home a "changed man"!

No, you don't need a shrink, in fact you are "just like" the "Honey Badger",,,, she did her DNA testing and was 98% Lithuanian, she mean, I don't ever make her mad on purpose anymore, it just ain't worth it! She's a beautiful woman, with beautiful skin, very sweet, but doesn't like to be "teased".....

She got a tattoo, it was a sea shell, and I told her it looked exactly like the "Shell Oil Logo"! and started calling her Shelly! that didn't go over at all! LOL

She's very "rigid" and strict when it comes to money and numbers, it either adds up, or it doesn't, she never see's the "value added", unless its beauty products, furniture, or household goods....

No, I think your skepticism is over the top, because of all those years under the Soviet block, and then the years of near poverty afterward.

so as much as I'm not a true believer in all these govt social programs, in military hardware, we've got some mind blowing aircraft, many delivered by the "skunk works" team...

It is old news, I shared it in the Iran topics.
https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/iranian-military-news-reports-data-etc.t7907/page-18#post-561478

So what ?
Iran 1.65 million square km, the S-300 batteries can cover less than 200 000 sqkm , the other radars maybe similar area , with terrain hugging flight path it is even less.

Iran has a lot of hills, means the problem of them was always the gaps in the radar coverage.

So, there is always an option to flight through Iran, and make nice pictures of the deserts. ( the SAMs are concentrated around population centres ) .
Add to that if they don't follow strict discipline with moving regularly the batteries and using mock up launchers/emitter and it is visible why they sacked the general.

But they managed to intercept the drone above the sea, so they improved a lot in the recent times.

However it is not about the capability of Iranians, but rather the capability of F-35 : D

And by the data the F-35 is in deep trouble .
And at the end of the day the physic doesn't lie, the F-35 has serious survivability issues against any decent SAM system ,with well trained crew.

The F-35 Demo Team is flying "Heritage Flights" all week at Oshkosh starting today, the F-35C will arrive at Oshkosh on Friday, and the F-35A Demo Team will perform their full show at the General Mitchell Field in Milwaukee, on Saturday July 27th and Sunday July 28th!

Sadly my friend Anny here continues to spread misinformation that will likely be the trigger that encourages bad people to "test" their air defenses against the F-35....

Sadly that can lead to an "ass beating", I found that out when I attempted to take on the class bully when he stole my marbles on the playground, favorite marble too, so I attempted to follow my "old mans advice" and take him down...

I went at him about 3 times, each time his arms that were as long as a gorilla popped me! after the first time, he was begging me to stop beating his fist with my face, I finally got the message after the 3rd time, and he was crying literally!!

I didn't realize he was severely abused by his Father and Grandfather, physically, that wasn't even on my radar, my Dad only gave me about 3 whippings that I can remember, with a belt, on my buttocks...

Leonard Anderson, where ever you are Bub, you taught me a good lesson friend, I'll never forget your tears, you didn't give my marbles back, but you gave me something much more precious, a little real insight into the human soul, where ever you're at Buddy, Blessings to you today.....

I decided after that, if I were to go in harms way, to go armed, and I'm a damn good shot! so if folks wish to confront the F-35, do so at your own risk, don't believe all the "encouragement" you get to "go after the other guy", cause you're not going to walk away, take that as a little "hard earned wisdom" from the Air Force Brat!

for me it's pretty normal to assume almost everything I hear and read is a lie, made just for a show

now I have to add it's different when I'm in the church where as a Protestant I believe reason cannot be used according to Luther (to the extent I know) OK I veered off topic plus you know I don't go much

You have no clue about war .
Brat waxes poetic, however that doesn’t mean he has no clue about conflicts.

F35 and F22 are unique among the fifth gens that have been built as the US releases news on them good or ill. Where the Russians and Chinese only release what they want released. And not just on Fighters but Air defense systems to. As such a healthy amount of hype and disinformation is perpetrated on systems like S300 and S400 in hopes of getting sales.
