Re: US incursion in new Chinese ADIZ: no reaction from China

Your own arguments betrayed the lack of credential in your story. You claimed the fishing boat could have been fired upon by the Japanese Coast Guard vessel. So, common sense tells us that the fishing boat couldn't be ramming the coast guard vessel, precisely because the coast guard vessel was armed and no one would like to become Swiss Cheese.
They just should do it like Russians do with Chinese fishing boats. 1 - announce that they should leave the territorial waters, 2 - fire a warning shot, 3 - ram the boat and arrest everyone aboard. Like they did this last year.
The ship's wake in your own video shows the Japan Coast Guard vessel repeatedly cut across the path of the fishing boat. The fishing boat was in fact trying to get away, whereas the Japanese vessel kept on hitting the fishing boat.
You seem to ignore the facts intentionally. The suspicious boat was on Japanese waters, has been ordered to leave, they ignored it and after that they tried to run away and were arrested damaging two Japanese CG vessels. The wakes show that Chinese boat has acted intentionally ramming Japanese CG vessels after it has been ordered to stop. Perfect piece of propaganda from your side, someone should hire you as lying is as easy for you as a piece of cake...
The subsequent stopping, boarding and impounding the fishing boat by Japanese agents in international water would fit the definition of piracy.
It all happened and there wasn't a sane person who called it 'piracy' after it happened.
Where are your arguments now? I rest my case.
You thought that I'll miss this post after the thread will be re-opened or what? Claim victory?
That isn't going to make a bit of difference. The simple reality is that China can't be further isolated, thus smashing your fantasy of threatening China into submission via isolation. The creation of ADIZ is a reflection that China is not concerned with America's and Japan's isolation.
Your argument: China has been isolated from the start -> China can't be isolated because it's isoleted from the start.
Seems like legit argument for me...
Thus, by applying induction to your statement, we see that if China were to ignore international laws, China can affect those countries.
lol, another sound argument. Sure, if China will attack any country and break international laws it can affect it, sure thing. The bad thing in your reasoning is that it won't happen.
China is now able to feed US and Japan their own medicines now. That's quite a change and a victory.
Wow, 'China is able to feed US and Japan their own medicines'. Wow.

A perfect sentence which gives minimum information and maximum fear. In a word - the sentence lacks facts and implies something which has been created in your head like superb Chinese victory. So South Korea expanding it's ADIZ won against China and now is now 'feeding China it's own medicines'? Indeed, another splendid victory for another country in the region in those few weeks... A war where everyone is a victor...

S.K expanded her ADIZ, the zone now overlapped not only China's but also Japan's ADIZ. Talk about waking up the neighborhood. Now it gets interesting. ;)

That's exactly why China these days just don't do any talk with the Japanese, as they know it's just a waste of time. Like, you'd know the Japanese finally serious for talks if their parliament pass some bills or motions that lead into things to ease tensions.

But we all know that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
The Chinese foreign ministry will not take that tact. Otherwise, there is no need for an embassy with Japan, or even a consulate. They DO talk with the Japanese.

The ADIZ is here to stay...I believe the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, and everyone else knows it. Voicing displeasure is one thing...but there is nothing they can do about it, and talk of displeasure over it will fade away rapidly as it becomes clear that the PRC is not using it to try and use military force to influence other disputes.

I do not believe the PRC plans to do any such thing. But they have established their intention, as a result of the needs and the purpose of the ADIZ to monitor closely the approaches to their airspace...just like the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc. do. That will stand.

As to the talks...I believe there will be back channel discussions to arrange it, and that Xi and Abe will talk. And that's a good thing. What will come of it is yet to be seen...but talking is exactly what the PRC has been pushing for...they will not turn away from it when the offer to do what they want is before them and say, "Ah, heck, we didn't really mean it. We know we can't trust you so we wont talk anyway, even if you say you want to."

If they did anything like THAT, they would end up looking as bad as they claim Japan has looked all of this time in not wanting to talk.

Anyhow, that's just my two cents. Time will reveal what will happen.

But as far as this thread is concerned, I believe the Chinese ADIZ is an accomplished fact.

Former State and Defense Department officials and former Middle East adviser Dennis Ross talked about President Obama’s challenges in foreign policy and national challenges. Topics included a recent agreement with Iran on its nuclear program, efforts to start peace negotiations in Syria, turmoil in the Middle East, the European economy, and competitive markets in the Asia-Pacific. They responded to questions from the audience at the New America Foundation. "The National Security Agenda: Foreign Policy Challenges in Obama’s Second Term" was the seventh in a series of programs co-sponsored by the Century for a New American Security and the American Enterprise Institute.

Thanks for the link, ABC, C-SPAN is an excellent and usually evenhanded non-profit NGO.
