Initially, i did think calling up the national guard (20k no less!) up to the Capitol to sleep on its marble floors, was a bit of an overkill, but given the possibility of deep QAnon infiltration and Trumpist loyalists in the security services, perhaps it would not be so far fetched to posit a possible soft coup going on in favour of trump.

The dumb generals in the US that come out of the woodwork... Trump wanted Flynn to send US troops into states that didn't vote for Trump and overturn their elections. US troops are that loyal to individual generals and retired ones too? The very same troops Trump called losers for joining the military? And bigger losers for those who died for the US in a war...? So are we to believe US soldiers are that dumb in the first place hence why someone like Flynn can be a General? I was arguing with someone on the internet who was trying to make fun of those Saudi Chinese drones shot down over Yemen. I pointed to how the US's most advanced drone was shot down by Iran. The guy replied making an excuse saying if it were wartime, the US would've been using electronic countermeasures that would've prevented Iran from shooting it down. I said so because it was peacetime is that why those two Aegis US Navy warships didn't bother to look out the window to see the bigger ships in front of them that were in the right of way that they crashed into? Then the guy retreats and says he's not American.
There's more troop in DC than in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
I know some members here are from Texas. This is what I think is scary. Armed militias opening carrying arms in Austin, capital of Texas.
