I can see Cindy McCain, who'd make a pretty decent Ambassador to London, if she listens to the professional staff.

Sure, Iger's done HK and Shanghai Disneylands but this seems weird since the Ambassador to Beijing is usually driven by personal relationships/China experience, and Iger doesn't seem to have either (no real links to power structures in Beijing/DC and sure Disney has expanded its China presence under his watch, but he's no China hand).

One of the few times I agree with Fox News. Bob Iger's an odd choice for ambassador to China. Not that I mind, he helps business ties between the two superpowers. But I'm sure Republicans would cry foul.

I don't see much of a shift in terms of US corporate interests; even during this year and 2019, US firms like Apple and Qualcomm tacitly allowed and even encouraged the worst excesses of the Trump trade war. A Biden Presidency would be hard pressed to deviate from policies that bat for US firms and business interests, but perhaps not as overtly as to attempt to steal Chinese firms like TikTok.

I think they need to replace Chen, no need to call people bitches and shit and stuff. It’s just too cringe.
When you have outright 4chan posters in the WH promoting conspiracy theories about COVID-19 being a bioweapon, i'd say having Chen calling these people bitches and shit and stuff is more than desired: it is absolutely required.

Now, we might have a more mature team in the WH but that doesn't mean US politics is going to be any more mature or saner; Pompeo is wanting to get into the Presidency in 2024 along with Cotton and Rubio and these were tea party nutcases who were braying for race war against China.

RT is putting out quite a few anti-chinese stories these days coinciding with the russian cyber-attack allegations in the US. I actually feel sorry for Russia, they know the full heat of the US is going to bear on them once Biden is in office. RT is desperately trying to change the narrative. Unlike China, they do not have a gargantuan internal market to shield themselves. No wonder Putin wants to formalize an alliance with PRC now. China should wait a little... to get a better deal.

Russia’s nuke inventory and valuable land makes sure that it will never be a friend of China, at best neutral/frenemy.
