after 10 years of operations seems like China has developed a good carrier based capability
what China needs to work on is eavesdropping, intelligence gathering, situational awareness, code breaking, surveillance, tracking, monitoring and full spectrum of operations capability integrated with the battle group
Warships are great but they also require years and years of experience and knowledge for true operational capability
also more formation sailing far from home seas is something China must practice in next decade
secondly how well can a Chinese aircraft carrier conduct air strikes far from home at long distance, sortie rates/bombs on targets is also central to a carriers offering

I remember hearing on Shilao podcast that PLAN only believed that it achieved operational status on CV-16 in 2021, after 9 years of service. Just shows how long it takes to build carrier op. And that's with PLAN fast tracking everything.

They are trying to use mostly 10 ship years of operational experience to approach the level of proficiency others built over nearly a thousand ship-years of experience operating high performance jets from large deck carriers, experience that includes considerable actually combat as well as considerable damage control under actually combat condition, this without others willing to share anything not already in public domain. Ballpark10 ship years is very fast if their standard for operational status is reasonably rigorous,
