I wonder why they didn't sink the VLS enough to hide the doors and hinges like the Europeans do, since this is an all out LO design. Is that a new CIWS behind the radar mast?

Interesting colour of the upper structure. Did they paint it after the sea trial (assuming these photos are new), or are they some sort of plastic/polymer shrink wraps?

The constrasting white super structure and grey hull makes one wanting to ask if that white paint is a stealth coating?
Since this ship's design is centred on stealth, why not give it a coat of radar waves absorbing paint? Cost is not material, the data from test results is far more valuable.

Can't be certain on the numbers of VLS; but the VLS "bumps" look more than 4x4 and almost look 4x6 or even 4x8....
Will have to wait for a top view.
