Unfortunately I live here and I know the climate currently is vehemently anti China. The media and politicians blame this on covid which they blame China for in the first place
This is one of the fundamental difference of a democratic system and chinese authoritarian system.

1.) in a democratic system where there is an open election, every politician that wants to be reelected, makes as much noise as possible and they make anything to be an agenda and even for non sense that is easy to sell to voters. for example, the classic "i will lower your taxes if you vote me." or "i will give you access to my nudes if you vote me". Thats why we see clowns and pornstars elected to office with zero experience or not even a college degree. With the current covid 19 situation, everybody feels the pain, every politician needs a scapegoat - and the purpose just to get reelected.

2.) For the chinese system, politicians dont make noise, they perform and competition is very tough. they are not elected. they need to show they are capable. It is a meritocratic system. Chinese politicians dont get promoted just because they are loud mouth or giving access to nudes. The Chinese system has been this way for thousands of years starting from Han dynasty 2200 years ago. Politicians need to prove they are competent.

Yes, he is a very busy man. Pulling double duty as champaign manager for Joe Biden. This is one of his ads to help elect Joe Biden.

Well that’s just Trump being Trump. But I feel the US left wing media is being a little deliberate obtuse here, as he is clearly taking about Obama’s disastrous handling of the 2009 US swine flu pandemic. And to be fair to him, given how much Obama failed on that, I really doubt he could have done much better of a job if he was in charge now.

Obama’s only real talent is to act and sound presidential. But he was also a pretty poor shot caller when the chips were down, and probably not much less narcissistic than Trump (how full of yourself do you have to be to accept a Nobel peace prize you know you did nothing to deserve?) only he is much better at hiding it.

At the end of the day, the American political system has been refined to become an almost perfect selection machine for such people, with anyone who have actual principles and core values almost guaranteed to be eliminated before they can attain positions of real power.

Toxic US mentality

China wins 5G race, US sanctions China 5G

China wins vaccine race, US sanctions China vaccine?

US has already politicized vaccination, have you heard of the anti-vaxxers group?

So even if a vaccine is available. China or US in origin, the percentage of the population that are loons will not take it and will continue to imperil the rest.

Sorry for the offtopic video, but here is a TED talk on the chinese 科举制度 system as supplement to your post.

I agree. Obama was lucky that swine flu did not turn out to be as deadly. I think I caught it at the time. Biden is not much better either, not the sharpest tool in the shed. The last good president was Bill Clinton. It has been a string of bad ones since.

Yes, there is a problem with the system when we keep selecting these bozos. It is very hard for an average person to judge the character of the candidate based on TV ads. In a way, President must be in bed with a faction of the special interests. You simply cannot get elected otherwise.
