Taking a military angle for a moment...
The news has shown multiple flights of An-124 (Russian and Ukrainian) carrying supplies from China to Europe now.
Just think of the sheer quantities that these shipments require multiples of the 2nd largest air transporter available...
An-124 probably hasn't been this busy since Iraq...

Already discussed to death in the PLAAF thread, but in less than 10 years, Y-20 has already flown some of the most vital missions for the country. Considering how the death rate can spiral out of control without adequate ICU resources, I think it is fair to say that it has saved 1000's of lives.

Video of Y-20 coming in for landing into Wuhan (Don't think it was posted before)

That’s why I said I would be very interested to see if my amazon order arrives. If it does, then that is circumstantial evidence that if there is an interception programme running in secret, it is exempting big retailers like amazon. If so then that is massively discriminatory, but not really surprising since if Amazon were ‘loosing’ packages to customs en mass, they would know about it pretty quickly and can then rumble the whole operation with a single press release.

If you bought masks on Amazon and they're being delivered from China to the UK, then it's not Amazon that is the seller.
It's a private 3rd party seller like on Ebay.

I've heard of numerous mask packages arriving fairly quickly from China to the UK recently.

They still come in your amazon standard issue postal packets, so either the 3rd party sells get these from Amazon, or 3rd party sellers send their orders to an amazon central logistics hub which then processed the goods and send to end customer.

I don’t know much about amazon’s business model, but it makes most sense for 3rd party sells to send to amazon for bulk volume low value items like masks unless the buyer is willing to pay extra for express shipping. Otherwise they won’t make any profit if the 3rd party sells ships direct to customers.

Either way, it should be fairly easy to identify amazon packages and just wave those through to not cause a fuss if governments are doing this on the DL.

Anyways, this is a minor enough point, and I think we have already spent too much time on it. I will drop this unless I find some concrete proof that it is happening.
