China recently expanded the definition of confirmed cases of Covid-19 from test kit positive result to include clinical diagnosis. To the best of my knowledge, the rest of the world still rely on the test kit positive only for confirmed cases.

Is anyone aware of other countries expanded or planning to expand the definition like China did ?

No, and even inside China only Hubei confirms with only clinical diagnosis.

Number of newly diagnosed (including CT diagnosis) is down to 2420 today in Hubei. Hopefully we've reached the turning point. The big question is how big the second spike is when the rest of the country return to work.

The overall suspected count is continuing to drop as well, likely as the new diagnosis/classification system allows faster clearance of a backlog of patients who were previously awaiting lab tests for confirmation, effectively converting them from "suspected" to confirmed" based on the new clinical/CT diagnosis criteria.

One Bay Area nonprofit is stepping up to donate a stockpile of 1.8 million procedure masks sitting in MedShare's San Leandro warehouse.

After fires and volcanic eruptions around the world, MedShare had them ready to donate to the next big disaster, and they say that disaster is coronavirus. They are also ready to ship 200,000 plastic isolation gowns.

"We originally had a flight out of Oakland but it got rerouted out of Chicago," Eric Talbert, MedShare's Western Regional Director said. "Thanks to folks at the UPS Foundation, they have a direct flight from Chicago into Shanghai. Once they're on the ground in Shanghai we have three distribution partners who will get them into the hands of people who need them. "

This week the State Department has facilitated the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials. These donations are a testament to the generosity of the American people.

Today, the United States government is announcing it is prepared to spend up to $100 million in existing funds to assist China and other impacted countries, both directly and through multilateral organizations, to contain and combat the novel coronavirus. This commitment – along with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the American private sector – demonstrates strong U.S. leadership in response to the outbreak.

We were talking about aid from the US government not private companies or regular people. Pompeo and the US media claimed that US has sent aid to China and it would be up to $100 million. The truth is the $100 million is earmarked for fighting Novel Coronavirus and future assistance to other countries. China hasn't received any government to government aid from the US yet.

come on trump is cheap dude, he just withdrawn what billions foreign aids from next year budget and asking SK/japan for protection fee, hes too cheap to actually given out stuff. If its obama or democrat in charge, they probably will give more. that been said, alot US entity did donate things. many of these non-profit group receive fund from US government. beside with current situation between china and US, i doubt both government will do much when either one is in trouble.

I don't think we should be talking or complaining about the US government not giving aid; even if it were given, it would obviously not be sincere but a show for the rest of the world. I don't even think China should accept it. If something happened in the US, I wouldn't support the Chinese government donating anything either. Let's not pretend; we don't like each other and both countries have a massive amount of schadenfreude for the other one because we're locked in the rivalry of the century here.

OMG !!!!!

Opened the thread this morning and 5 or 6 pages of Jav vs ougoah. Lot of heated air an not much else.
???

Blissful tranquility for me.
But I hear some kicking and muffled screams coming from my ignore bin.
Think of doing what I have done and you feel even more at peace than will come from sipping Iron kuanyin or wulung tea.

The Americans give, as I know they will.
Decent caring folks with generous heart and full of love.

Muricans will not give, as I know they will not.
