All the new cases are found in the quarantined population.
In a "controlled" manner, Shanghai is about to restore life to normal.
Starting on May 16, day to day commerce businesses, including groceries, convenience stores, supermarkets, shopping malls and pharmacy stores, will be opening in stages.
At the beginning, farmer's markets will only allow wholesale business. Restaurants will not take eat-in orders. Barbershops and laundries will open in staggered hours.
In most of the places, traffic are still going to be restricted to limit occupancy.
Keep in mind that the study has sample size of 128 people, and only looks at neutralizing antibody marker, but still concerning nonetheless. The vaccine however provides protection against serious illness and hospitalization, just that it cannot be relied as way to slow the spread of the virus since its not a sterilizing vaccine. We'll need to develop a sterilizing vaccine and medicine, if we want to reduce its severity and transmissibility to that of a common flu.
Its worrying that the omicron surge in the US Northeast, 40& of deaths occurred among vaccinated folks. My cousin in Chicago had it recently despite having a 3 dose vaccine done. He said the pain was excruciating, imagine the effects without vaccine.
I wish your cousin a speedy recovery, I think we'll see what scale of disruption would happen if the population doesn't have high vaccination rate with North Korea who's now experiencing a massive Covid outbreak.

In Australia during 2020, initially we were told to get tested if we had symptoms and known to be the close contact of someone positive or have just travelled from overseas. Then to isolate. There was option for telehealth at home, that is video call with GP but eventually we were told to get tested anyway. I had assume if they tested covid negative, it would be classified as flu. Or if the pcr test shows influenza strain. I could be wrong.
