Vaccinating the bat population.... hmm.... yea this virus will never be eradicated.
The old saying is, "Vietnam will suckle on any cow's milk." (I made this up)
But basically Vietnamese only know and respect money and power. That's why Vietnamese and Japanese worship the US, even though they got napalmed and nuked to death. US has lots of money and they hope for some of that trickle-down effect if they kowtow low enough. However, as China grow rich and powerful, Vietnamese will compete with Koreans and Japanese to lick China's butthole again, just like in antiquity.
Why couldn't they have bought it from China directly?

Out of 50 million of the vaccine, 30 million bought from UAE and 20 million bought from China to be delivered before October. Does the phrase "before October" interpret into delivery deadline on 30 September? If I understand it correctly, maybe Vietnam wants the vaccines immediately and China cannot produce it in time while UAE has the stock in their warehouse. So Vietnam turns to buy part of the vaccine from UAE. Just my two cents!
@SteelBird I agree bro, Wang Yi is well received in Hanoi , Vietnam had already stated its neutrality cause its ironic, allying with somebody who murdered your family and proclaiming they're BACK (such insensitivity). how crazy is that!
Vietnam has been dragging their feet for months. So by the time they urgently needed and asked for immediate delivery. China could not guarantee all vaccines can be delivered at the time schedule Vietnam requested.
Latest outbreak COVID-19 outbreak in China is getting contained quickly. 10 new cases today and serious cases are already dropping quickly. Also we are vaccinating the last cohort of the unvaccinated (mostly younger children) so the infectable population is getting less and less. This coupled with mass boosters and effective 2nd gen (i.e. SCB-2019 and ZF2001) means china might be able to re-open borders by Jan-2021. We should be able to reach 80%-85% fully vaccinated well before CNY.
