Good luck to the UK. Hopefully, the gamble payoff. I think 100-200 deaths per day would consider a win for Boris Johnson.
Infections on a seven-day average have now exceeded 25,000 a day, more than 10 times the level in mid-May. So far, however, the average number of fatalities per day has held below 30 since mid-April, proof, say scientists, that vaccines are saving lives.
Still, there are warning signs: Britain is currently seeing about 350 hospitalisations a day from COVID-19. While that's a fraction of the rate at comparable points in previous waves, it is up around 45% over the last 7 days.
Not sure what went wrong in Indonesia. Let hope it could contain the Delta variant soon.

US wasn't even testing for new variants until UK started genetic sequencing in Oct 2020.
There is a variant first identified in California that is more virulent and lethal than the original.

If anything proves the Western media will outright lie is this pandemic. I've said this before back when countries starting working on a vaccine they said a vaccine with at least 50% efficacy is good enough. so the West can spin and lie about the efficacy of Chinese vaccines but it shows how they would rather have people die around the world while they hoard their vaccine and try to scare people into not taking a Chinese vaccine which mean people unnecessarily die for Western vaccine nationalism. They would rather increase the chances of a mutation happening just because they want to make it look like the West saved the world when they're hoarding their vaccine for themselves. Everything they tried to paint what China was going to do with its vaccine, they're doing right now. They were painting China as evil for something they said China for a crime that hadn't happened and now the West is doing the very thing they accused.

I just saw this on CNN where they said Pfizer stopped tracking any breakthrough COVID-19 asymptomatic cases of people who took their vaccine meaning the media spins it as no such cases happening making it look its vaccine is highly effective.
China really needs to ramp up its own mRNA vaccines testing.
I'm bumping up 2 of China's most advanced 2nd gen COVID-19 vaccines which we should be getting efficacy results by Q3. Walvax is a thermo-stable mRNA, while SCB-2019 is a subunit vaccine which generated very strong results in Phase 1 (very high GMT antibodies). SCB-2019 also has $300 million funding from CEPI and received a 400 million dose advance order earlier this month.
Bloomberg is desperate to talk down Chinese vaccines with AstraZeneca before the inevitable announcement that a booster shot for Pfizer is also needed.
Since inactivated vaccines have lower side effects and use more matured technology(no long term side effect fear), then I just don't see why people need to inject themselves with mRNA.
Recent development has proven that mRNA vaccines are not that much superior. mRNA vaccines might prevent transmission and infection better than other vaccines due to higher dose but mRNA prevention against hospitalizations and deaths are only slightly better. If that is the case, then giving an extra dose of inactivated vaccine would significantly boost the antibodies and have the same effect as mRNA.

Clover vaccines use Dynavax adjunct so it will probably not get a big order from China. But if the trial is successful, then it is possible that it would still be included in the national vaccine rollout. Clover is also position itself as an export focused vaccine. I think one issue for Clover is that it requires 3 doses like Zhifei subunit vaccines.
