If you read the article, you'll find the title is highly misleading.
It says the researchers point out infections were decreasing before the lockdowns, but it claims the lockdowns had an effect.
It just claims the lockdowns weren't solely responsible for the infections going down.
Typical reporter bullshit.

For anyone who's ever worked in the service industry, this is no different to an indian haggling and whining "give me cheaperrrr".

Perhaps the good folks in Guangzhou should sue the Indian government for the latest lockdown and strains, all of which came from "Make in India"

Ironic, in US courts, if the prosecutors are unable to provide evidence, then the case is automatically dismissed, even without any words by the defense. The beauty of US judicial system is the defense doesn't even need to prove anything, the burden of proof is on the prosecutors issuing the charges.

Also, another beauty of US rule of law is 5th amendment that gives "right to remain silent" to avoid self-incrimination, and declining to answer the question is not considered an admission of guilt.

But look at the witch hunt...presuming guilt without due process. Yes it's highly politicized circus now.
