When US is losing the vaccine diplomacy race to China, the US play the Wuhan lab leak card to try to sow seeds of doubt about China, her vaccines, and her generous intentions.

American state-sponsored propaganda to dissuade third-world countries from accepting Chinese vaccine aid, or at the very least, cloud their minds about China's good-will and intentions. US cannot stand China getting all the credit for vaccines to global south, so it's trying to smear China with gossip and trash talk. It's like friggin' highschool drama.

That's the true reasoning behind resurrecting Wuhan lab leak. The US don't want the truth, the truth doesn't matter, it's the suspicion that this conspiracy generates that matters.

Pretty much confirms the idea that the lack of effective quarantine was one of the prime drivers of subsequent waves after last summer.
Variant B.1.617 is the one from India and it is being detected in a largely Indian populated area (Brampton)
There was another article elsewhere that I did not post that said the Indian flight ban had a significant impact on caseload reduction.
This is not to blame Indian people, because I also believe that travel to Europe and the US in previous months caused the other waves. For example, land crossings between the US were not subject to quarantine even though the border is "closed".
Subsequent community spread was due to reopening schools and restaurants too soon.

Why is the Canadian government so incapable of enforcing the quarantine measures? Makes no sense. Many times the caseload was able to be reduced to under 1000 with the lockdown measures, that means for the most part, the community spread was effectively limited considering a population of millions.

Why is the airport open for free travel? If the airport is restricted (as they say), basically we should be doing arrival PCR test, followed by getting onto the bus to go to hotel.

I get the government does not want to pay for these people's quarantine because they chose to travel against the advisory.
Alternative is to go to crappy mandatory quarantine centre out of repurposed idle convention centres nearby. The cost of this is better than paying all these people CERB, either way we are paying for these people's disobedience.

Well, then we ought to ensure lockdown measures aren't enforced or given away like candies. Lockdown means lockdown and strict enforcement from the get go should have been enforced without question. But some Canadians have been infected by a far more dangerous pathogen which is called the American virus MORON-21 resulting in the uneven and schizophrenic response from the government both provincially and federally.
