Seychelles' population is 98,347. Their active cases represent 2.5% of their population. Of the 60% who are vaccinated, only 57% were with Sinopharm, which makes Sinopharm inocculation rate to be 36% of the population.

Since the claim is that their "active cases doubled", that means the new cases represent only 1.2% of their population. Since fully 40% of their population remains unvaccinated, a "surge" of 1.2% in active cases is nothing unusual.

As usual, the above articles use word games to construct a false narrative.
A few articles only mention Sinopharm and try to downplay AstraZeneca role in the vaccination or just simply say that another vaccine is Indian origin name Covidishield. As long as they can taint Sinopharm reputation, don't think they care about the truth.

Yep, the Seychelles data is actually extremely positive for the effectiveness of Sinopharm and AstraZeneca.

More than 60% of the population is vaccinated and yet all 28 deaths are among the unvaccinated minority. Another way of putting it would be Sinopharm has a real world efficacy of 100% in preventing death in Seychelles.

This is very good news considering the surge in cases in Seychelles is most likely due to the Indian variant.

The issue is how do you know if these vaccines are authentic.

This is crazy! A jab of unknown liquid for 150,000 yen (roughly 1377 USD). If somebody spends his/her hard earning money for this, he/she not only waste the money but also risking his/her own life injecting that thing. Even if it is a real thing, you need to know that most vaccines need two shots, where does one find the second shot afterward? Another 150K yen for another unknown liquid? Further, vaccines need to keep at certain temperature. If it is a Pfizer or Modena, the vaccine has long spoiled before it would arrive at buyer's hand.

The bottom line is: if you don't have access to formal vaccines, just stay at home.

Damn, sinovac vaccines getting equated to Marijuana and drugs. If this happens in China, I'd bet all MSM would hound the gov to grant approval immediately.

This Washington Post article is a more objective even though it quotes Yanzhong Huang.

Important to note that 65% of the cases are in the unvaccinated population.

I'm just doing a quick back of the envelope calculation here
So population is roughly 100,000
New cases are about 1,070
35% of cases are in the vaccinated population ~375
375 out of 60,000 (60% of the population is vaccinated) pretty good effectiveness still is it not??
