Japan has 1,084 COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms, the health ministry said Monday, hitting an all-time high for the second straight day and stoking fears of further strains on health care systems.

The total as of Sunday increased 34 from the previous day, while the hospital bed occupancy rate for people in serious condition has topped 50% in some prefectures, including Osaka and neighboring Hyogo, which have been under a state of emergency since late last month with Tokyo and Kyoto.

With Japan lagging behind other advanced countries in its vaccine rollout, the government plans to set up large-scale inoculation centers in Tokyo and Osaka to be staffed by Self-Defense Forces doctors and nurses, separately from similar vaccination efforts being made by local municipalities.

All of the academics and experts in the world cited by yet another "Chinese" social scientist, Carry Wu are simply going to be negated and gloss over by the peanut gallery who take their knowledge and expertise by projecting their own idiotic biases, prejudice about a subject matter(s) they are utterly incapable of discerning, let alone understanding. Yet, in a democracy, these morons unadulterated, uncouth rambling have to be taken with equal weight to the actual experts opinion based on extensive research, rigorous testing etc. Just check the comment section of the article linked above. Their relentless attack on Chinese vaccines saying a third dose is needed due to low efficacy rate of Chinese vaccines but now they are the one that is going to administer a third dose first.

From what I understand, Singapore has only approved Western vaccines and not Russian or Chinese ones? I understand why Taiwan won't approve, but can someone explain Singapore's logic? I understand Singapore is supposed to be neutral 中立 about this West-East thing.

China just needs to crank out effective mRNA vaccines soon.
