Because Suga is travelling all around the world like the little US vassal he is; trying to grandstand against China while forgetting the increasing numbers of Covid cases in his home are threatening the Olympics there.
The same with Modi, while his country is burning, he is making comments about China
It may take up to 40 days to fulfill Indian orders.
Even then many suppliers fear of being badmouthed and non-payment by the Indians.
It is the US that is taking up the bulk of the export market of China oxygen and medical equipment producers.
Seems like bulk of US medical equipment supplies are still from China. Wonder what will happen if there is decoupling with China.

The quote I had when I was shopping was 15 days, but that was an air shipment. A different firm was willing to ship within 2 days, and if we went through UPS, it would have been really expensive, but arrived within 5 days.
In either case, the Indians are very screwed right now.
I dont blame these companies for being concrned that they will get badmouthed.
This will absolutely happen if Indians see Chinese products. Maybe the Foreign Ministry can send it by other ways, send by third party etc
I believe if there are governments involvement, the orders will be expedited to much earlier date and prioritized.
Unfortunately the Indian government, media and their minions are too egoistic, to plead for assistance from China.
It is very unfortunate because this double mutant strain of Covid is killing many younger Indians given the lack of medical oxygen supply.

There is an English saying that I think would be appropriate for this situation - would not piss on them even if they were on fire.
Babies under a certain age can fly free on the parent's lap.
Thats nothing. There are still people who dont believe that covid even exists. There also people believing the lab escape conspiracy theory
In general, whatever stupid thing you have thought about, there will be some people in the world who have thought more stupid stuff than you
