Called it. Can't imagine how any of the Big 3 would miss out on such confirmed order frenzy for the C919.

Not surprising. The aircraft has had no major issues. Let's see if they can ramp up production.

Apparently the 2nd COMAC assembly line for the C919 at Xi'an will be completed in 2025. There should be growing production capacity from then on.

that the list price for China Southern is $99m compared to $108m for Air China. What is the reason for such difference? Maybe Air China will get C919ERs while China Southern - C919STDs?

Those are the list prices, not the real prices they will pay. The minor differences in the list price are most likely due to different configurations and interior customization, etc. People pay different prices for the exact same car model, e.g. BMW X5, when they choose different packages and options.

Is there even a need for steep C919 discounts when the 737 is such a disaster and the A320 is backordered to kingdom come?

The C919 is also backlogged like crazy considering production rates. Even it they manage to raise production to 100 airplanes a year- which is probably 3-5 years away, it will still take a decade to fill all the current orders. The 737 is bad but nobody has any other choices right now.
