FYI - this is the consensus view of the C919 on Wall Street. Imagine thinking what you heard in 2016 from Chinese airlines is relevant in 20-f'ing-22
I have near zero confidence in news outlet like Wall Street for their track record.

In this particular article, two things stand out impossible to believe.
1. It claims that Wall Street talked directly to the Chinese airlines who in term claimed that Chinese passengers prefer western jets. Did any of the airlines make polls asking passengers? How could that kind of market investigating being allowed as they and COMAC are both owned by the state. Why didn't these airlines reject C919 out right? It is like Chinese SOE went out to ask people not to buy their own products. How ridiculous is that?
2. What is the 150 something seating? C919 by its name is more than 190 seats in spec, also called 200 seats class. It is like saying I am going to make a bus that can only accommodate the driver.

I call Wall Street BS as always. I think their article should not even be brought up except for the purpose of mocking them.

The C919 carries a lot less fuel than either of those aircraft. That is the main reason it has less range. I assume COMAC took into consideration the range that Chinese companies required and designed the aircraft appropriately. It does seem a bit less weight optimized but not significantly so.

WS for sure can't conduct any survey by its own and we all know why. Chinese airline was "Ordered" to buy C919 and we all know why. So I guess they made such claim by the method of "We all know why"?

As of C919, it does not means it can carry 190 people. The standard passenger number when C919 was designed to be 168. For future stretched version, I see 190 is not a problem. The A321 with dense seating configuration can go up to 244. I think C919 even with current length and dense configuration can go up to 190, but it is never in any discuss we can find online.
