Not exactly. The 2017 agreement is more of a programmatic document. The actual air worthyness certification of a particullar plane is still not shared. For example, China's ARJ-21 has been flying in China for years, but FAA have not certified it. The 737 max is first grounded in China by CAAC, and CAAC recertified the max much later than FAA did.
That's right.

It's more a problem of politics than something of technology.

Even when Russia had a deal with EASA, it was basically about Russia adopting EASA testing methods and having joint missions where EASA and Russian inspectors flew certain test missions. It was about compressing the testing schedule but EASA never just blanket accepted Russian certification.

In a best case scenario that is what could happen if Chinese authority makes deals with EASA or FAA.

EASA signed some kind of deal with China a few years ago regarding reciprocal acceptance of each other's certifications. This link has the documents related to it. I didn't read these, but I think one of these documents outlines how China and EU would go about it.

Are there any estimates for sales pricing of C919 vs A321 vs B737Max? Just roughly, as I know a lot will depend on numbers ordered and optional fits, etc.
Operating cost have a big impact in sales, some airline ditch planes with a lot of life left for new ones because they save the cost of buying it with the drop of operating cost...For example the A340 have been ditched way before their service life expired at most airlines for big twin jets. So it will be interesting to compare operating cost too.

Sale cost have a lot of variable but is still relevant. For AirChina, a government-owned airlines (more than 50%), it's quite hard to compare C919 because more sales money stay in China than money going abroad with 321 and 737max. I cannot see them choosing another plane beside closing a gap in production.
