The Europeans are already freaking out about China destroying their green hydrogen industry even though transporting electrolysers will be really costly and not worth it based on this article.

That statement doesn't make sense for the following reasons

1. Hydrogen electrolysers can be produced in China, but they don't necessarily need to be overhauled in China.
Chinese companies could setup regional maintenance and overhaul facilities.

2. At 50 tonnes, you could transport a stack in 3 containers. Call it a maximum of $15K in return shipping costs anywhere in the world.
The cost of a stack looks like $13 Mn, so transport costs are like 1% of the purchase cost.
And you only have to overhaul the stack every 8 years.

Now, he doesn't actually state what the cost of an overhaul will be, but I suspect it will still be far cheaper to overhaul in China than elsewhere. After all the transport costs are miniscule

I'm not sure why IEA is hyping that China threat stuff. After warning of China/Russia dominating nuclear. Now, they are warning China dominating solar.

IEA is made up of mostly North American and European nations. Like most Paris-based institutions, it is farcical in purpose. Both China and Russia are not member countries. The IEA has been involved with defaming China for some time now.

And they broke ground on massive 16 GW project with 8 GW solar, 4 GW wind and 4 GW coal along with energy storage.

And yes, in the other green field, green hydrogen, Western countries are again freaking out over China dominating here. Let's wait and see how long the IRA can actually survive in its current form.
