Yeah a domestic game engine would be nice especially if they actually release it for public use. Typically i see CN games developed using Unity and recent one seems to go Unreal. current Gacha are largely Unity.
--------

Also, I feel really upset, as i mentioned earlier.. I play Snowbreak : Containment Zone. Right now the game is under indefinite maintenance. Apparently it got reported as extreme feminazis as a distraction from arrest of Jinjiang novelist which made gore content.

I sometime wonder why the environment are such an extreme especially for gaming. This is not the first time i hear such a case, and not just Snowbreak, Girls Frontline 2 suffered similar drama, and let's not forget the shipping cahracter wars.

Yes they got mass reported on XHS, but that’s because the devs (Seasun) announced an offline event in collaboration with China Post. Talk about utter stupidity.

I finally quit the game last month. Before that I was just mechanically doing the dailies. The game started with an interesting premise and an engaging cast of characters, but they’ve completely abandoned that. They removed all male characters aside from the protagonist from the setting, turned all the girls into brainless sex dolls, and is just a hair away from turning into a full porn game. Then they had the bright idea to do a public promotion with a government entity.

China post as in the postal service? Is that what people are crying about? Also, if this was mass reported on XHS, then it would be mostly Chinese players reporting it, right? What a confusing sh*tshow.

For the gore content, isn't it because they made it not inclined with the maturity rating? I believe you can write gore or hardcore stuff, but it must have the correct maturity rating. Similar to how Black Myth Wukong was allowed to have all the gore and blood, even in their newest trailer, because it's strictly rated M. Unfortunately, most gatcha games are aiming for a wider audience and have restrictions.

China Post isn’t just postal service, it’s also a bank. The Devs tried to do a collab with them. That promotion got the attention of feminists on XHS, and because the promotional material featured some pretty borderline material, the promotional event was cancelled, and shortly after the servers went into indefinite maintenance. This was even reported on the news, which for an obscure Gacha like Snowbreak is crazy.

So it really wasn't about the China post collab but rather a bunch of butthurt tourists. It's a sh*tshow, alright.

First time for everything. Chinese Game Studio ( Pan Studio ) seems to be speed running itself into bankruptcy.

“Duet Night Abyss”

Because malware got into their game updates twice in 1 month. Pan Studio calls it an “abnormal game login issues” and moves on like nothing happened without telling their player base. Resulting in a predictable ballistic meltdown on the global side. Is the Chinese version also affected?

It also drags their publisher Hero Games into the mud. Even though they aren’t involved. The ones who invested (20% stake) and partially funded the development of Black Myth Wukong in the early days.

Literal Keylogger.
