A YouTuber blasting that lazy IGN review who gave Where Winds Meet a scathing review and a score of 6/10.

The IGN reviewer was lazy and condescending to the game. He didn't spend enough game time and was bitching about everything. He doesn't understand if the game is a single player RPG, MMORPG, life sim, action adventure, or open world, when it is all of them at once. So he concludes that the game is a confused mess.

LoL! But the game is free to play. So that IGN negative review is still good press, because its gonna raise curiosity. That's why gamers don't trust IGN anymore. Chinese soft power has arrived, and the Western elites are all too busy smoking copium.

IGN review on YouTube got hella ratio'd anyways, 1.7K likes to 13k dislikes

Western game journalists continue to erode whatever credibility they had left

Recent reports indicate that Varsapura, a new game led by Mihoyo founder Cai Haoyu, is set for release. The title translates to “City of Rain.” Published by Mihoyo's Singapore-based subsidiary Cognosphere Pte.

Interesting.
Been avoiding Hoyo games due to.. well some part of its fandoms which unfortunately more on the rabid side especially toward shippings/pairing of their in-game characters.

IGN gave concord an higher rating than Where Winds Meet.

Even their "Modern audience" didn't like that game and playing the CN games instead.. the thing is those also trying to bring their "modern ideology" in the game.

Girls Frontline 2 (yes that's Chinese game too) finally rolled its Elmo update. Wonderful. Finally a full 3D dorm glory as Snowbreak Containment Zone. Azur Lane seems to follow the suit. Chinese server of Nikke have a minigame which basically a 3D dorm too, tho only 2 Nikkes (Blanc and Viper but those actually HuaPi taking disguise as them)

Experience, splendid so far

Rumor has it that the next major map for Honkai: Star Rail will not be Benzaitengoku. The reason is that the current political issues between China and Japan make it inappropriate to release a Japanese-style version of the map.
Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Honkai: Star Rail's Version 3.8 will be extended by three weeks or longer. This delay may be to adjust the overall style of the upcoming Version 4.0. Consequently, the core characters originally planned for Version 4.0 may be replaced or demoted to secondary roles.

Referring to the consequences of extending duration in Genshin Impact version 2.7, this would have a rather severe negative impact on the game's popularity.

Personally, I strongly hope that China's anime and manga culture will separate from Japanese culture, and that Chinese anime and manga games will forge their own unique path.

Game products exist as physical publications in Chinese mainland, at the same level as public books, magazines, and newspapers. This means that if a game wants to be sold in Chinese mainland, it must pass a lengthy review.
Therefore, more game developers have adopted the method of 'listing games on foreign platforms without locking the CN area', which is a legal way based on WTO regulations.
It can also be seen that many foreign game manufacturers add Chinese voice, Chinese translation, and even carry out promotional activities in China for the Chinese market. Although their games don't necessarily pass publication review.
do people even follow that?
steam games dont need to pass reviews right?
and since steam is pretty much unblocked there is no reason to go through the review, unless they want to sell on wegame (y tho)
