Yes it seems that SAC and XAC will collaborate to develop the multirole stealth fighter. This aircraft would also suit perfectly PLAN future needs.

Personally I preferred the theory that J-19 was a heavy twin engined aircraft dedicated for strike, with possibility for future carrier modification. We'll see.

may be they have already flown a small scale demonstrator months ago. Do you remember?

I was thinking something more along the lines of X-45A to X-45C or phantom ray -- small scaled proof of concept aircraft developed into full size combat capable planes. What you're talking about were less demonstrators than model planes, too small to demonstrate much apart from that flying wings can fly. the fact that those toy like models resembled flying wing ucavs is more likely to be from benefiting of research for said UCAV than actually being a miniature scale demonstrator.

i was not talking about a single engine. i expect the multirole stealth fighter to have 2 engines.
i think china don't need a single stealth engine. J-10 and his future variants suffice.
PLAAF could easily have 500 J-20/J-19, 500 J-10, 500 Flanker and 250 Jh-7A in 2030 and it will be more than
enough. Save money for the 6th generation fighter

Ah ok i see. china don't have pratice to fly demonstrator. if the x-47b do exist we will see it like the chengdu UAV Xianglong

The Xianglong looks stealthy! Could it be armed?

VMT Hendriks for the video. Very impressive development by the US University. Gives us some idea of this technology. Reminds me of a swarm of deadly hornets ready for the "sting".

So has anyone else heard of the chinese company yotaisc?

Apparently they're china's biggest civilian UAV maker, and from their (decent looking) webiste they have a small but equally decent range of UAVs, mostly for civilian use but I imagine could be used for the PLA as well.

Namely, the X200 UAV (220kg MTOW, 5 hour endurance, 100kg payload, 220km/hr max sped) is a UAV similar in specs to the Schiebel S-100, and I can easily envision a few of these aboard PLAN ships.
The small multirotor UAV too obviously has uses for the Army and special forces.

SGA2012: Chinese VTOL readies for open market

16 February 2012 - 7:48 by Andrew White in Singapore

Beijing Yotaisc Technology Development is preparing to bring its X200 vertical take-off/landing (VTOL) UAV to the market in September, company officials have stated.

Speaking to Shephard at the Singapore Airshow, chairman and CEO Xie Qinghua said the UAV would be made available to customers following a successful evaluation period. He highlighted the Chinese military and other government agencies including the departments of agriculture and energy as possible customers.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and Air Force have already been supplied with two systems each for evaluation. The company said the systems have been utilised for missions including maritime surveillance.

According to Xie, the PLA has a requirement to procure around 100 VTOL UAVs over a period of three years. He said the airframe, which is designed to travel at a maximum speed of 220km per hour, comprises a similar capability to Schiebel's S-100 Camcopter.

Indeed, company sources believed that the PLA had already procured some 45 Camcopter systems over the past two years. Schiebel refused to comment on any possible deal.

With an endurance of five hours, the X200 is capable of carrying a 100kg payload and has already been fitted out with a variety of payloads ranging from EO/IR and SAR sensors through to ground-penetrating radar and 3D laser rangefinders. The X200 can operate at a maximum altitude of 5,000m and relies upon multi-redundant INS and GPS for navigation.

Xie highlighted potential taskings which included search and rescue, border patrol and battlefield assessment as well as civil missions such as oil and electricity inspection.

Interesting that they mention the PLA may have acquierd a few Camcopters... That might be what the mysterious UAV we saw last year was

That's interesting. I just saw this video. Not sure if it the same multirotor but the sheriff with the multirotor in the back of his SUV is similar. I wonder if it's from the same company.
