UPDATE:

There is an unconfirmed (so it may very well be BS) rumor that the personnel are simply a video game development team and that the model is simply that - a model.

Unconfirmed as in from someone with a track record, or unconfirmed as in some random person making a post? If it's the latter, then that is probably more useful for us if they are not quoted lol.


... in any case, the photo itself does have some interesting details, like what appears to be a bulkhead/cross section of an aircraft's fuselage in the background (look near the mock up's air intake).
What a video game development team would be doing having that in the background... who knows... not to mention the demographic of the team looks on the older side of what I'd envision.

Putting a red AVIC logo on top of the mock up would also be a bit on the nose for a video game company.

Unconfirmed as in the person has no track record (at least to my knowledge) and likely no credentials, which is why I put forewarnings ahead of the rumor. I personally have serious doubts about the rumor as well since a video game dev team shouldn't be anywhere near what seems to be an actual factory or aircraft plant (note the overhead cranes).

in that case we can probably disregard that rumour.

on another note -- I think we can spot a ventral weapons bay in this photo. Considering the perspective and the people standing in front, I think it could be long enough to fit BVRAAMs.
